Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: Alpenglow

Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges are updating right now, as midnight rolls westwards around the globe, to bring a new set of five new events for players to enjoy for the next week.

For those unfamiliar with them, Weekly Challenges comprise a set of five events — mainly existing races from World Circuits, but sometimes with a Special Event made just for the week — and rewards for completing them during the seven-day window.

There’s one such Special Event this week, placing you into the Alpine A110 ’17 for a one-make race at Brands Hatch. You can tune the car however you see fit for the five-lap race, which will award you 85,000cr for taking first place.

For this week’s lowest-value event you’ll need something with Dirt Tires equipped. In fact you’ll specifically need a Road Car (or Tuned Car) from Japan with four-wheel drive (there’s no AWD/4WD distinction in the game) with Dirt Tires equipped, as you head to Fishermans Ranch in the Japanese 4WD Challenge 600. It’s a one-lap race worth a solid 30,000cr for victory.

High Speed Ring makes a rare Dailies/Weeklies double appearance this week too, showing up by way of the Reverse layout course in the Schwarzwald League. For this you’ll need a German car from any brand, at or under a Performance Point cap of 700PP. Win the five-lap race to take 65,000cr.

You’ll need any one of the game’s Nissan GT-R models, from the Hakosuka through to the latest R35 Nismo, for the Nissan GT-R Cup. This runs over five laps of Blue Moon Bay Infield A Reverse, and also sets a hard, 700PP cap while adding a Sports tire (any grade) requirement. Victory will earn you 90,000cr.

Finally there’s a race which you may need to unlock by at least starting GT Cafe Extra Menu Book 48. This is the World Touring Car 900 event at Autopolis making a second appearance in a little over three months. It’s an open event for cars with a 900PP limit, although there’s some stiff tire wear and fuel consumption for this ten-lap race against a largely Gr.2 class AI field. You’ll score 150,000cr for taking the win.

There’s a chance to score a very rare, car-exclusive six-star Roulette Ticket this week if you clear all five events. These guarantee a vehicle worth at least 500,000cr, and potentially much more. Elsewhere there’s a parts-only six-star Roulette Ticket for completing any one event, and a 150,000cr ticket (which you’ll need to redeem from your garage’s Gifts section to add to your in-game bank account) for finishing any three.

You’ll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access to the Weekly Challenges. The events update at midnight local time on Thursday evenings/Friday mornings, so we’d expect the next set on the morning of Friday July 26.
