Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges; Go, Go Gallardo!

A new set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges is becoming available to players around the world, updating as midnight passes on Thursday evening in each time zone.

GT7’s Weekly Challenges comprise a set of five events, largely drawn from the existing World Circuits events, selected for a seven-day window in which you can earn bonus rewards should you complete them with a third-place finish or better. There’s also now a regular slot for a “Special Event”, created just for the week.

This week is no different, with the Special Event featuring the Lamborghini Gallardo added in the most recent content update from July 2024. It’s a four-lap blast around Trial Mountain for the junior supercar, in any state of tune you like, for a potential first-place prize of 90,000cr. That’s not a bad hourly rate if you can hop the Gallardo up enough and snag the clean race bonus each time.

One of the shortest possible races in the game features in the Weekly Challenges this week too, as you’ll head to the Sunday Cup event at Northern Isle Speedway. It’s five laps of this tiny oval, for a victory bonus of 5,000cr, and any road car of any type can take part.

Another oval location shows up in the next race, although you’ll be driving the Infield A variant at Blue Moon Bay. This three-lap race is open to any road car from the USA — the American Sunday Cup 600 name only suggests a PP value of 600 for a close but winnable race — and awards 15,000cr if you cross the finish line in first.

There’s 40,000cr on offer if you can take the win in the Japanese Clubman Cup 550 event at Laguna Seca. Again, the 550 branding is a suggest PP value only, and you can enter the three-lap race with any road or professionally tuned car.

That leaves the final race, which is a bit of a beast and one of the highest-value (in raw credit reward) races in the game. You’ll need to have unlocked the World Touring Car 900 event first, but you’ll see the ten-lap race around the 24h du Mans circuit when you do so. You can use any car with a PP rating at 900 or less, but watch out for changing conditions and high tire wear if you want that 400,000cr reward.

Unusual rewards await this week. You’ll score a redeemable 150,000cr ticket if you clear three events, and a pair of specific six-star tickets for one and five. The former is a parts ticket, awarding a rare part (which… we’re going to be able to sell when?), while the latter is a rare car ticket that guarantees a vehicle worth at least 500,000cr.

You’ll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access to the Weekly Challenges. The events update at midnight local time on Thursday evenings/Friday mornings, so we’d expect the next set on the morning of Friday September 13.
