Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: Final Evolution

There’s a new set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges becoming available across the next few hours, bringing a fresh quintet of challenges to tackle during the week for some bonus rewards.

GT7’s Weekly Challenges consist of a set of five events, mostly drawn from existing World Circuits events but more often than not now including unique events created just for the week. Completing the events during the week’s window earn you bonus rewards, for finishing one, three, or all five events.

It’s a mixed bag of events this week which include two that you’ll need to have unlocked (by starting the relevant Bonus Menu Book) in order to see and take part in them.

The Special Event for the week is a Mazda Roadster (NA) One Make, requiring either the original road car or the Touring Car model of Mazda’s famous convertible. It’s a four-lap race of the full Suzuka Circuit, offering up 120,000cr for victory.

At the other end of the scale is a two-lap race of the hilariously compact, shaped, and named Broad Bean (BB) Raceway in the Sunday Cup. All road cars are eligible for the race which will be over before you know it and award you with just 5,000cr.

There’s a similarly stingy event at the Autopolis Short Course in the Japanese FF Challenge 450. For this you’ll need any front-wheel drive road car from Japan — ignore the “450” part of the name, which is a suggested Performance Point (PP) value only — and the two laps award 25,000cr for victory.

The new Evolution Meeting event added in v1.52 makes its Weekly Challenges debut this week, with the three-lap race at the long, combined Kyoto Yamagiwa+Miyabi course — and in the Reverse direction. You can use any Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution road car (except the Gr.3 Road Car) — in any state of tune, with the three laps awarding 70,000cr should you win.

This week’s big-money race is, unusually, a time-limited event rather than a lap-limited one. It’s the 30-minute “endurance” race in the Gr.1 Prototype Series at Road Atlanta, for which you’ll need any car at or below the 950PP limit and on any grade of Racing tire.

You don’t need a Gr.1 car specifically, but they’ll be hard to beat in anything but a peer, not least because the huge 12x fuel consumption multiplier favors endurance racing engines. Watch out for the awkward pit entry too, which will hit you with a three-second penalty if you cross it. Take the win to earn 320,000cr.

We’re back to roulette ticket rewards this week, with only the prize for completing three events being cold, hard cash to the tune of 150,000cr (and don’t forget to redeem this from your Gifts section). Completing one event awards you a Six-Star Parts Roulette Ticket, while it’s the rare Car ticket for hitting all five; this guarantees you a Brand Central car worth at least 500,000cr — and could include Invitation-only cars.

You’ll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access to the Weekly Challenges. The events update at midnight local time on Thursday evenings/Friday mornings, so we’d expect the next set on the morning of Friday October 18.
