Depending on where you are in the world, there’s a new set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges either now available or becoming available in the next few hours, with five more events to tackle across the next week.
GT7’s Weekly Challenges comprise a short, curated playlist of events that are mostly drawn from existing World Circuits events but now also seem to permanently feature a one-off Special Event created just for the week. Racing in these challenges will earn you some bonus rewards, depending on how many events you manage.
The raw prize value this week is actually pretty high, with the lowest-paying event being a two-lap run around Tokyo Expressway’s Central Clockwise course in the Sunday Cup. Despite being a brief run it’s worth 27,000cr for the win, and all you need to take part is a road car.
You’ll need to unlock the next event if you haven’t already done so, with the Historic Sports Car Masters being the subject of Bonus Menu Book 46. There’s a complex set of regulations for this race, but in essence you need a road car made between 1960 and 1989 and at no higher Performance Point (PP) rating than 580PP. It’s a five-lap race of the Grand Valley South Reverse short course, worth 55,000cr.
The Nissan GT-R Cup is up next. For this you’ll require… well, a Nissan GT-R. Any roadgoing GT-R from any generation (and the Safety Car) will do, but you’re limited to a hard, 700PP cap for this five-lap race at Deep Forest Raceway, with a 68,000cr prize for victory.
We have an unusual situation where one track location hosts two events this week, and it’s a second race at Grand Valley. This time it’s the full Highway-1 course and it’s a Special Event for the BAC Mono. You’re not limited in tuning for the Mono, but the long, five-lap race is worth 100,000cr so be careful not to spend more than you’ll earn back.
Finally we’re visiting Circuit de Sainte-Croix A for the highest-value race — and it’s curious that this track has featured so little until multiple recent events. It’s an eight-lap race in the World Touring Car 800 event, so you’re restricted to an 800PP limit and required to use Racing Tires. The track is pretty long, so the 200,000cr payout isn’t particularly efficient on a time vs. credits basis, but it’s a handy sum.
There’s more cash in the rewards this week, as completing one and three events will earn you a 100,000cr ticket and a 200,000cr ticket respectively; don’t forget to redeem these from your Gifts section though. Sweep the set and you’ll earn a Six-Star Roulette Ticket, which can award 500,000cr or 1,000,000cr sums or a Brand Central car worth at least 500,000cr.
You’ll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access to the Weekly Challenges. The events update at midnight local time on Thursday evenings/Friday mornings, so we’d expect the next set on the morning of Friday October 25.
