Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: Deutsche Courage

A new set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges is becoming available to players around the world as midnight passes in each time zone, bringing a fresh set of five events to race through across the next week.

GT7’s Weekly Challenges consist of a short, curated playlist of events largely from those already present in the World Circuits area but with one each week now being a brand-new race created just for the week. You’ll earn bonus rewards for taking part in the races during their time on the Weekly Challenge rotation, with higher-value prizes the more you complete.

It’s actually a reasonably lucrative week too, as the lowest prize value of any of the five events is a 30,000cr reward for winning the American Clubman Cup 700 at Laguna Seca. It’s a five-lap run for an road or “professionally tuned” cars from the USA, in any state of tune.

Next up is an equivalent race in the European Clubman Cup 600, at the rarely used Blue Moon Bay Infield A course. Again, it’s a race for road cars from any European manufacturer and in any state of tune — the 600/700 in the names is just a suggested Performance Point (PP) target for an even race — with a victory bonus of 50,000cr.

You’ve got a pretty grueling race up next, as Tokyo Expressway’s Central Clockwise track hosts the World Rally Challenge Gr.B. That requires a Gr.B car (all of which are race cars, so that requirement is redundant) and on racing tires. A high tire wear and fuel consumption rate make it a tricky, ten-lap event if you want that 65,000cr prize for the win.

The Ferrari Circuit Challenge at Monza is the last of the regular events this week, and also the only one of the five that has a Performance Point limit. You’ll need a Ferrari — obviously — with no more than 700PP for this five-lap race, with 90,000cr awarded if you win.

That leaves the Special Event, which is the second Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters race after it made its debut three weeks back. There’s actually no limits at all to what you can drive in this event, but the AI are all classic DTM cars — Alfa 155, BMW M3, Ford Sierra, Mercedes 190E — in close-enough liveries to make it look like a mid-90s DTM race.

You can go with the theme or not, but either way it’s set over eight laps of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya GP course and awards you with 150,000cr for victory.

We’re back to credits rewards this week, by way of three tickets you’ll need to redeem from your Garage’s “Gifts” section to earn their face values. Finish one event for the 100,000cr ticket, three to net the 200,000cr ticket, and all five for the 500,000cr ticket.

You’ll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access to the Weekly Challenges. The events update at midnight local time on Thursday evenings/Friday mornings, so we’d expect the next set on the morning of Friday November 1.
