Five new races are up for the next set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges, which begin at midnight tonight in your local time zone.
The Weekly Challenges in GT7 comprise a short, curated playlist of events, mostly drawn from the races you can find in the World Circuits area but with an additional “Special Event” race made just for the week. Completing the event within the seven-day window will award you bonus gifts, increasing in value the more you complete.
It’s a surprisingly sedate set of races this week, with no flagship racing events and indeed the two highest value standard races require a car under 700 Performance Points (PP).
We’re going to start at the bottom as usual, with the European FR Challenge 550 at Dragon Trail Gardens. It’s a three-lap affair at this fun loop, requiring a front-engined, rear-wheel drive (or “FR”) road car from any European manufacturer in any state of tune; the “550” of the name is just a suggested value for a competitive race. There’s 25,000cr available for taking the win.
Also at Dragon Trail, but this time on the Seaside course, there’s a much higher-value race in the Ferrari Circuit Challenge. You can use any Ferrari model so long as it doesn’t exceed that 700PP car, and the five-lap race here is worth 90,000cr for victory.
Despite the slower opponent cars, the Japanese FR Challenge 450 at Autodrome Lago Maggiore West pays out more than its European 550 equivalent. There’s 40,000cr up for taking the race win in this three-lap race, which requires FR road cars from Japan — and again, without a PP limit.
The World Touring Car 700 event at Brands Hatch’s GP circuit does have a PP cap though, again at 700PP. Your opponents for this ten-lap race, which also requires you to use racing tires of any type, will be Gr.4 cars so make sure that you choose wisely. The race awards you 110,000cr if you should win.
Finally, the Special Event this week is the highest-paying race of all, at 120,000cr for victory. It sees a return of the Mazda Roadster one-make which allows you to use either of the two first-generation (NA) models in the game. There’s no limitations to tuning — handy, as both now have rotary engine swaps available — so you can do whatever you like to your car for the five-lap race at the full Autopolis circuit.
Your bonus rewards this week are all credits — or at least redeemable credit tickets, so don’t forget to head into your Garage’s “Gifts” section to claim them. Finish one event for a 100,000cr ticket, three for a 200,000cr ticket, and all five to earn yourself a 500,000cr ticket. These are, somehow, less satisfying than a big old gold brick on the roulette wheel, but at least guaranteed prizes.
You’ll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access to the Weekly Challenges. The events update at midnight local time on Thursday evenings/Friday mornings, so we’d expect the next set on the morning of Friday November 15.
