Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: Pug Life

More new Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges are becoming available to players around the world, ticking over to a fresh set at midnight local time, featuring some of the content added in today’s 1.56 update.

Weekly Challenges comprise of five events, mostly plucked from existing races in the World Circuits menu but with a “Special Event” created just for the week. Finishing these races — by placing third or better — during the seven-day period will earn you bonus rewards, with bigger prizes for the more events completed.

It’s a surprisingly low-paying week this week, with no standout event in terms of standard prize money rewards — in fact nothing will even get you six-figures, even with the clean race bonus. However there’s also no really low-paying one either.

The scale starts with the new Sunday Cup Classic race at Red Bull Ring Short, which features the Unimog in the thumbnail. You can use just any road car for this three-lap race though, which offers up 25,000cr for taking the win.

Three more laps await in the American Sunday Cup 600 race at Grand Valley Highway 1 Reverse, though they are much longer. As you may expect, it requires an American road car, though the “600” notation refers only to the recommended Performance Point (PP) rating rather than any limitation. Victory is worth 45,000cr.

It’s the Special Event up next, which is a one-make race for the Peugeot 205 GTI road car, also just added in today’s update. There’s no other restrictions, so you can go nuts with the tuning if you wish, but the three-lap race at Alsace Village offers up a mere 60,000cr; bear that in mind for your budgeting!

Race of Turbo Sportscars breaks up the three-lap pattern, with a five-lap run at Interlagos. The restrictions for this race are a little complex, but any car that shows “T” for “Turbo” in its overview is eligible so long as it doesn’t also exceed 700PP. Winning earns you 63,000cr.

Finally we have a ten-lap race of Trial Mountain in the World Rally Challenge Gr.B event. This requires you to use a Gr.B car (and, superfluously, a race car; they’re all race cars) on any racing tire, but in any state of tune that you want, with 65,000cr up for taking first place.

We’re back to the credit bonuses this week, with each of the three stages awarding a credit ticket. There’s 100,000cr for completing any one event, 200,000cr for any three, and 500,000cr for completing the set. Beware that this isn’t awarded directly to your balance, but will need to be redeemed from your Gifts section of your Garage to earn the credits.

You’ll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access to the Weekly Challenges. The events update at midnight local time on Thursday evenings/Friday mornings, so we’d expect the next set on the morning of Friday March 7.
