Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: Viper Activity

A new set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges is becoming available to players around the world as midnight arrives on Friday morning, bringing five new events to tackle over the next seven days with bonus rewards available.

Weekly Challenges are composed of five events: four from races already part of the World Circuits menu, and a fifth “Special Event” that’s created just for the week. Completing these races, by placing third or better in each, within the seven day window awards extra prizes that increase in maximum value the more you finish.

We’re starting with a small and simple race this week, with just 7,000cr on offer from the High Speed Ring round of the Japanese FF Challenge 450. You only need a road car from Japan that’s also front-engined and front-wheel drive (so no NISMO GT-R LM!) for this quick, two-lap race. Don’t worry about the “450” part, as that’s just a recommended Performance Point (PP) value for a competitive race.

There’s a nice bump up to the next race, in the European Sunday Cup 500 at Eiger Nordwand. Again, the “500” part of the name is of little relevance, as you just require a road car from a European brand to take part in this three-lap race which offer 35,000cr for victory.

You might need to unlock the Vision Gran Turismo Trophy, which is the next most-lucrative event on the list. As the name suggests, you’ll need a Vision GT car for this lengthy feeling, seven-lap race of Kyoto Driving Park Yamagiwa, but there’s also an 850PP cap set. Victory is worth 90,000cr.

This week’s Special Event pays out pretty well, with 130,000cr on offer for taking the checkered flag first in the one-marque race at the reverse layout of Trial Mountain. All you need is a Dodge Viper of any kind — road or race — and with no other limitations you can really go mad if you want to guarantee a win in the seven-lapper.

Finally there’s the World Touring Car 900 event at the Autopolis International circuit. This time the value in the name is a PP cap, but otherwise there’s no limits: you can use any car of any kind at no greater than 900PP. Watch out for tire wear and fuel consumption over this ten-lap race, which awards 150,000cr for taking the win.

It’s cash prizes for the bonuses this week, with 100,000cr, 200,000cr, and 500,000cr for completing one, three, and five races respectively. Don’t forget that you’ll need to redeem these from your Gifts section of your Garage to claim their face values.

You’ll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access to the Weekly Challenges. The events update at midnight local time on Thursday evenings/Friday mornings, so we’d expect the next set on the morning of Friday March 28.
