Finally, someone (EuroGamer) with the opportunity to play Gran Turismo PSP has the great idea to select the series’ most infamous track: the Nurburgring Nordschleife! The “Green Hell” looks a bit more like heaven from the “cockpit cam” of this Renault Clio.
See more articles on Gamescom 2009 and Nurburgring Nordschleife.
What I don’t understand is that people are forgetting its a PSP and it can be played anywhere at any time (although online has its limititations), a lot of us are limited to the amount of time and when we can play our far superior PS3’s!
The Nordschieife doesn’t look very wide in those screenshots, which will make for interesting overtaking. Bit like real life for me, at speeds it felt there wasn’t much space!
Hmm It’s amazing How many of the Videos lately has the Driving line Turn on, Damn annoying hehe, bTW Richard Burns Rally has used that cockpit view Since 2004..tsk tsk.
very nice can’t wait to download
Jabofu where did you play it?
@jabofu: more like the screenshots : http://media.multiplayer.it/images/2009/08/19/289624.gran-turismo-mobile-per-psp.not_so_big.jpg then? But I don’t know what you wanted: IT”S A PSP, not a redux PS3 ;-)
Is this the Full Nurburgring??
I played it today and it is a nice game, but it looks pretty bad in my opinion.
I never knew it had cockpit view!
They have taken the Codemasters way (simple dashboard view) and IMHO, it’s a very clever move… I have some difficulty to really judge the good trajectories with the bumper cam and I hate the third view so this new view for the PSP is wonderful!
Black is ok and provide the LCD info screen bar to act like a dashboard. ANY DASHBOARD/COCKPIT will be good to have!
Yh I think it’s just black too, but I think it’s still good, amazing graphics of the car & track, looks better than ps2!!
@cobraagent90
No there is not a wheel as mentioned above and before, Once again the cockpit is black inside with no individual styling or modeling just to give you the image your in a racing cockpit, the reason why this is a good idea is that while your on the Go you wont even notice the modeling inside the car and it makes you appreciate that it’s there at all well I certainly do for one. If they used this idea for GT4 it would have not gone down so well as many games on the playstation 2 had interior modeling but GT4 did not incorporate the idea and saved it for GT5 of course. Gran Turismo PSP once again can take advantage of this because the screen is small and you dont notice these things off the bat which is the point :), I posted this up in the Gran Turismo Mobile Video Thread thread earlier today aswell. Good job, Jordan i’ve also posted a HD Video of GT5 in the Video Thread with some captions.
there is no wheel, it’s just black and this scared me about the possibility of having alla cockpit in gt5 even if this car is already in gt5p and it has cockpit view.
We can’t see the wheel because of Youtube’s low quality.
Anyone else find it weird and yet somewhat ironic that a ported GT4 married with a bit of GT5 has a cockpit view and the original GT4 didn’t?
The same thing that’s done here, which looks like nothing more than a closeup of the dash with no visible steering wheel could have been done in GT4 to some degree. Almost makes me think the mobile counterpart is better than the original.
Every car has black interior. The cockpit is not modeled, but the camera is just placed inside the car to give you the idea of racing in cockpit view.
Hm, interior is somehow weird, just black…
i wonder how good rthe cockpit view is so far from the videos, you cant really see much… dials hands etc
But i dont’ see the hands and the whell and it seem the same cockpit of the other video.
looks good but i kinda wanna see more gt5 videos =]
It looks exciting
