With the 2024 Gran Turismo World Series World Finals in Amsterdam fast approaching, Polyphony Digital has announced the tie-in campaigns for viewers — with bonus rewards for your powers of prediction or just simply watching the event through your game.
The Viewers Gift and Predict the Winner campaigns are a regular feature of the GT World Series live events now, offering the chance to enjoy them even if you can’t get there in person by gifting you with special rewards or just a boost to your GT7 wallet.
For the 2024 World Finals there’s three prizes in each of the two campaigns, corresponding to the Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup — which has been moved back one day from the original schedule — alongside the Manufacturers Cup and Nations Cup of the previous three events.
“Predict the Winner” is a pretty self-explanatory title. You’ll need to head into the special in-game tile, which you’ll find on the World Map in GT7, and select which driver or team you think will come out victorious in the grand final of each event.
In each case you’ve got up until the start of the final race to make your choice, allowing you to watch some of the other races and qualifying before deciding who is on form, and you can dip in and out to make individual selections rather than all at once.
For each one you get correct you’ll earn a 1,000,000cr ticket which will be sent to your Garage/Gifts on Tuesday December 10. That means a maximum of 3,000,000cr is available, if you select correctly.
The Viewers Gift campaign only requires that you watch the relevant event through your Gran Turismo 7 game. You’ll need to head to the special tile in the top-right corner of the World Map and, once the broadcast starts, pick your stream and select your preferred streaming platform.
Just doing that is enough — you don’t need to actually watch even a frame of it — and converts the blue “Watch Stream (Entry Available)” button to a gray “Watch Stream [Entry Submitted]” button. Even better, you can do that at any point up until 0900 UTC on December 16, though if you do it before 1500 UTC on December 9 you’ll receive two of the three rewards earlier.
It’s an interesting selection of rewards too. Watching the Toyota stream will earn you a Six-Star Roulette Ticket, which can give credit rewards of 500,000cr or 1,000,000cr, or a car from Brand Central worth 500,000cr or more. Tuning into the Manufacturers stream will gift you the Gr.3 car from the winning brand, whoever that may be.
However it’s the final prize that grabs our attention, as it’s listed as “TBA” and will only be delivered to players after the next GT7 game update — which we’re expecting to be close to Christmas (and perhaps on Thursday December 26, as the final Thursday of the month).
That suggests that the reward is almost certainly a new car that hasn’t been added to the game yet. In previous years, that’s been a Vision Gran Turismo concept that was revealed at the event — the Ferrari in 2022, and the Genesis in 2023 — but at present we don’t have a firm idea of what to expect here.
The GT World Series World Final in Amsterdam begins in just over two weeks, running from Saturday December 7 to Sunday December 8, and GTPlanet will be present at the event once more.
