The location for the 2024 Gran Turismo World Series World Finals has been confirmed, with the series returning to Amsterdam for the season-ending event.
Amsterdam last hosted the Gran Turismo World Series for the mid-season Showdown in 2023, which also doubled as the world premiere of the Gran Turismo movie. It’s also the home of the European arm of Polyphony Digital, so somewhere that the team will have a lot of familiarity!
Interestingly, this location contradicts the one accidentally revealed on some regional Gran Turismo websites back at the beginning of the year. Two different versions of the site appeared to confirm that Abu Dhabi would be hosting the final, with the information quickly removed.
There’s myriad reasons why the actual location for the final could differ from this original leak of information, but whatever the reason we now know that it’s not the case.
Not only is the Gran Turismo World Series returning to Amsterdam, it’s heading back to the very same venue that staged the event last year: Theater Amsterdam. We found it to be a pretty impressive — and very “Gran Turismo” — location when we attended the Showdown in 2023, so it’s little surprise to see it retaining its spot.
It’ll once again be open to the paying public too. The 45,000 square-foot auditorium venue can accommodate 800 Gran Turismo fans, VIPs, media, and guests, and ticket information will follow soon.
As, unlike the three preliminary events, it’ll be a three-day affair, we’re expecting individual one-day tickets and a full weekend pass to be available, possibly with additional tiers with different benefits.
The schedule for the event has the Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup final on Friday December 6, with the Manufacturers Cup final on Saturday December 7, and the Nations Cup final wrapping things up on Sunday December 8.
