Polyphony Digital has announced the calendar for the online phase for the 2025 Gran Turismo World Series, which will get underway in just six weeks’ time.
Although full round details aren’t available at present, we do now have an overview of the dates you’ll need to keep in mind if you want to be part of the live events in this eighth season of competition.
It’s set to be a pretty brisk calendar too, with another surprisingly brief qualification process despite the criticisms of this portion of the tournament back in 2024. Once again, each of the two championships will consist of just six online rounds taking place during spring.
That will absolutely rush by too as, just as we’ve seen with the current Exhibition Season events, races will take place on Saturdays and Wednesdays. Manufacturers Cup will take place first, followed by Nations Cup and with absolutely no pause between them or gaps to allow for game updates. The schedule is as follows:
Gran Turismo World Series 2025 Manufacturers Cup Qualifiers
- Round 1 – Wednesday April 2
- Round 2 – Saturday April 5
- Round 3 – Wednesday April 9
- Round 4 – Saturday April 12
- Round 5 – Wednesday April 16
- Round 6 – Saturday April 19
Gran Turismo World Series 2025 Nations Cup Qualifiers
- Round 1 – Wednesday April 23
- Round 2 – Saturday April 26
- Round 3 – Wednesday April 30
- Round 4 – Saturday May 3
- Round 5 – Wednesday May 7
- Round 6 – Saturday May 10
You’ll need to be pretty diligent with your participation too, as there’ll only be a single dropped round this year with your best five round results counting towards your points total.
Given the timings of the slots over the past two Exhibition Seasons, that’s going to make things tricky for players in full-time education or employment — or with other real-world commitments — particularly during the Wednesday rounds.
As yet, we’re not quite sure what players will be qualifying for as the live event calendar and venues remain under wraps. The official Gran Turismo YouTube account posted that 2025 would be “bigger than ever” in the World Final stream last year, and since that doesn’t apply to the online qualifiers (which reached 40 rounds in 2020) we can only imagine that references these live events.
2024’s schedule was actually the second biggest to date in this regard, taking in live events in Prague, Montreal, and Tokyo, ahead of the final in Amsterdam. While the six-event 2019 calendar was the biggest to date, we’re expecting 2025 to at least match 2024 in terms of event count — though quite where they’ll be remains a mystery for now.
With six weeks to go until the season starts, there’s plenty of time to boost your Driver Rating in Daily Races now that the cap has been raised. We’re expecting the full schedule to be announced in the final week of March, along with a possible new season of the Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup.
