Tickets for the Nations Cup and Manufacturers Cup at the Gran Turismo World Series Finals in Barcelona, Spain have officially sold out. Even the premium, all-access “Platinum Ticket” is no longer available.
Although the World Series has hosted significant live crowds for a number of years now, this is the first time a Gran Turismo event has “sold out”. The Sydney event in February of 2020 came close, but those tickets were free. Ticket prices for Barcelona range from €15 for single-day General Admission, €30 for single-day Gold Access which includes some additional perks, and up to €50 for the multi-day Platinum ticket.
The first paid tickets for a Gran Turismo event were available at the Amsterdam round of the World Series back in August, which coincided with the launch of the Gran Turismo movie. There was a good crowd, but it didn’t sell out, so the high demand for access to the Barcelona event is a sign that Gran Turismo’s live events are gaining positive momentum.
Of course, Spain has a long history of hosting and supporting some of the most spectacular events in the franchise’s history, including the GT6 launch party and 15th anniversary event in Ronda, and the EMEA Regional Finals in Madrid back in 2018. At the time, I declared it the “best Gran Turismo event, ever” due to the wildly enthusiastic crowd that packed 28,000-square-foot theater built inside the convention center hosting Madrid Games Week. The atmosphere was incredible and electric.
If any event could top Madrid, it could be Barcelona, as Gran Turismo takes over the Fira Internacional de Barcelona’s 260,000sqft (24,000sqm) Hall 2 for three full days. Stay tuned, we are on the ground here now and will be covering everything to come from this very busy weekend!
