EA has teased the third of the four planned DLC packs for GRID Legends, which is set to come to all platforms on November 17.
After the previous two packs themed around the Seneca team and the Voltz team driver Valentin Manzi, this third pack takes a look at the baddies of the title: Ravenwest.
It’s called Rise of Ravenwest and, although details are a little scarce right now, we’d imagine from the images and teaser video (and name) that it deals with the history of the Ravenwest team — right up until team boss Ryan McKane and his driver nephew Nathan become the mustache-twirling villains of the game’s storyline.
With only a teaser to go on at the moment, we can’t say exactly what’s going to be in the DLC pack. However the previous two — Enduring Spirit and Classic Car-Nage — both brought new story and career missions, a new game mode, new courses, and new cars to Legends.
That means you can probably expect a walk through some of the Ravenwest team’s history, revisiting some of the cars used in older games — some of which you can see in the clip and by the recent social media activity.
You might spot the Ravenwest-liveried Mazda 787B and Viper GTS-R in the image above, but there also appears to be a Ford Mustang Boss 302, a Nissan Silvia S15 drift car, and a Group 5 BMW E21 320i — all from Ravenwest’s stable in Race Driver: Grid. The 320i in particular was referenced in another social media post recently:
There’s a lot of time spent looking at a classic Chevrolet Corvette C2 in the video, which would also be a returning Ravenwest car from the original 2008 title, as well as a brief glimpse of an Audi R8 which appeared under the team’s colors in GRID Autosport.
In addition to the car hints, the official GRID Legends social channels also posted a blurred video which could suggest what the new game mode will be — and it’s actually a very old game mode.
The short video doesn’t reveal much detail, but fans familiar with the series will recognize both the music and the game HUD from the 2008 original.
There’s no pricing yet, but both previous DLC packs came in at $/€9.99 (£7.99) — with a 10% discount for EA Play subscribers — and we have little reason to suspect this will be any different. It’s also included in the GRID Legends Deluxe Edition.
With the DLC due to arrive at 1500 UTC on Thursday November 17, we won’t have to wait much longer to find out what EA has in store.
