GT Academy 2010 National Finals Start Wednesday

Now that we’re into February, the second round of GT Academy 2010 is about to begin! Participants down under will kick things off this Wednesday, February 3rd, before the European finals begin this weekend. Our forum moderator Sphinx is compiling a list of each national final, along with its date, venue, and all GTPlanet users who are competing.

If you plan on going to your local event, send me an email and take a camera, as I would like to document each national final as best I can here on the news blog. Good luck to all!

I really do not think it will be tokyo, surely a real race circuit would be more appropriate seen as though they are trying to find real race drivers. I’m thinking Spa

First and foremost, I think this track will take place in Tokyo.
This, most definetly, sounds like a thrilling experience, indeed.
Well, not in term of juridical matters of course.
    Best wishes from North Korea.

No people Im not English.. Thanks anyway… (due to my perfect grammar and spelling.. never mind.. you got it..)

Here in Portugal the finals are this Saturday the 6th.
And it’s not Tokyo, if it was said it would be a new track, why use one that’s already know and shows to the public?
My sources tell me it isn’t.

@Jordan: Me and a group of friends from my forum are going to be there, my presence is not 100% sure yet, but I guess I could try gather a few pictures and videos from the event.

Given the different dates for the national finals. In order to eliminate the possibility of other nations possibly gaining an ‘advantage’, we could assume that it’ll be at a completely new track to the GT experience.
Guess we’ll find out Wednesday 3rd Feb.

I don’t understand why Australia gets to compete in the European search but the U.S. doesn’t.

Also, how hard would it be for SCEA to get together and talk to… ohh say… VW’s TDI Cup to get an additional car and a spot for one lucky GT finalist. It may not be as prestigious as the FIA GT4 championship but why not compare the basic training elements of GT to Go-karting and other forms of racing.

There’s also multiple other racing leagues that Nissan or another car company could team with Sony to compete in. Maybe the winner gets to enter the Mazda tier, where they start in MX-5’s then the Mazda 6 touring cars, then Formula Mazda etc.
