GT Academy, the program which turns Gran Turismo gamers into professional race car drivers, is coming to the world’s second-most populous country: India.
First reported by Overdrive.in and confirmed by MCV India, the new region for the competition is expected to be formally announced at a press conference in Delhi on February 4th – one day before the start of India’s Auto Expo 2014.
This will represent the eighth distinct region for the wildly successful GT Academy program, joining Western Europe, Germany, Central Europe, Russia, North America, South Africa, and the Middle East.
In retrospect, a Nissan press release from the 24 Hours of Dubai actually offers some big hints at GT Academy’s 2014 plans, including a possible Australian region and – perhaps – even one for Thailand.
