The developments of the North American GT Academy 2014 Race Camp were fully documented for a reality television show, which premiered on Spike TV last week. New episodes air each Friday on the network at 11:30pm Eastern Time, and they’re also uploaded to Nissan’s official YouTube page later in the week for the rest of the world to watch.

The first episode is online and can be watched above – we’ll be featuring each episode here as the competition plays out over the course of the next few weeks, leading up to the climax with the revelation of the 2014 North American champion.

The episode begins with the GT Academy national finals, which were held in Times Square in New York City last July. The entire event was live-streamed, and you can watch the full broadcast of the finals right here to see how these finalists qualified for Race Camp.

And don’t forget – finalist Tommy Gontkof, who stars in the show, is hosting a special viewing party just outside of Baltimore, Maryland, complete with a GT6 racing competition, door prizes, and a fundraiser for the Armed Forces Foundation. Enjoy the show!

I never read it here on GTplanet, but the german GT Academy was actually broadcasted on television too. Aired in the Formula 1 Preshow on RTL every raceday. They didn’t mention Gran Turismo itself a single time, only showed the GT Logo and talked about the Nissan Nismos. Hosts were Nick Heidfeld (ex F1 driver) and JP (well known german tuner, turbocharger lover, youtuber and tv host).

I think the episodes are posted somewhere on Spike’s website. I know I’ve seen past seasons there. I don’t think GT Academy will ever be on Netflix.
