In an interview with Kikizo, GT series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has once again confirmed that the PSP game Gran Turismo Mobile is still in active development. Despite having been overwhelmingly written off by the the popular press, the gaming press, and even video game retailers, it remains something that Yamauchi repeatedly confirms.
Kikizo: And what’s happening with GT Mobile?
Yamauchi: Probably next year.
Kikizo: Probably next year? So it’s still in active development?
Yamauchi: Yes.
Yamauchi’s responses are intentionally vague, but there has obviously been some work on the title and it would be a significant write-off of the developer’s time if they did not plan to release it eventually. What do you think?
You know, I may not be the only one, but I can’t afford a PS3, or any next-gen console. I can’t get GT5. I have GT4 for the PS2 but it is very tempermental. I would love for it to be released for the PSP. I would test it if I had to. I want it that much!
i just think he’s getting annoyed now with everyone asking him constantly about it, No dout that he wants to release this asap but theres no use of releasing it before GT5, who knows he might be working on the project at the same time as GT5 but for now we dont know what will happen till it’s release and it will release eveyrone just needs to be patient, GT5’s a big game to produce
I done think its really worth it – with gt5 prologue out, no one would really buy gt4 portable, IMO. I own a PSP as well
I bet the vagueness points to:
It will be dropped, but we don’t know when to announce that. “probably next year.”
