It’s a new week in GT Sport, and that means Polyphony Digital has delivered us a fresh set of three new Daily Races. After a slightly unusual triplet last week it’s back to more routine racing to see out June. The three new races require very little by way of explanation.
Race A takes you to Japan’s Tsukuba Circuit for a five-lap race in specially provided vehicles. This week that’s just the one car, but it’s quite an interesting one. You’ll be driving the 993-generation Porsche 911 Carrera RS Clubsport. It’s a stripped-back, track ready machine which Porsche built as an ode to the naturally aspirated, air-cooled boxed engine — and only 213 of them left the factory.
In terms of lap count, Race B is actually shorter this week. It takes the form of a BOP-enabled Gr.4 race at Austria’s Red Bull Ring. With no tire wear on the table, that should effectively turn the four-lap event into a one-make Peugeot RCZ race, though a few brave or foolish souls will try to win with something else. We wish them luck!
Meanwhile Race C will turn the pace up quite a bit. This is another trip to Japan, this time the fearsome figure-eight circuit at Suzuka. It’s a ten-lap race for the fastest GT category in the world, Super GT. You’ll just need to pick one of the six Gr.2 cars in the game and take to the track. Fuel and tire wear are turned on, but the multipliers are relatively low and the race sets Racing Medium as the only permitted compound so there ought to be very little by way of strategy involved.
These three races will run through to Monday, July 6, when another new set of three will replace them.
