It’s the start of a whole new week (yes, another one; sorry), which means that — along with many of us heading back to work again — there’s a new set of GT Sport Daily Races. This week’s selection is a little out of the ordinary, as it contains two events with specially provided cars.
The first of those is as British as they come. You’ll be heading to the Brands Hatch circuit, in Kent, to take part in an unusual head-to-head race. The cars in question are the original Mini from 1965 or its present-day successor from 2005. It’s a six-lap race, and both have BOP calculations applied to bring them into the N100 category, but the torque and fat tires of the 2005 car would seem a clear advantage.
Race B also provides you with the car you’ll need, which is a little unusual. It’s also a single-lap race, which is also kind of odd. However, you’ll be living out your “Faszination” fantasies in a classic 930-generation Porsche 911 Turbo — not quite the Ruf Yellowbird, but close enough. All you’ll need to do is pick a color for your 911 (yellow isn’t an option) and head out for your lap of the Nordschleife.
For fans of slightly longer events, Race C visits the reverse version of the Dragon Trail Gardens circuit for a 12-lap affair. It’s a race for the Gr.4 car of your choice, and while these have become events dominated by the front-wheel drive cars you’ll need to be a little cautious. A 7x tire wear multiplier puts this race right on the cusp of a pit stop; the high-wear FWD cars will almost certainly need to stop but others may not.
These three races will run through to Monday, July 27, when another new set of three will replace them.
