GT Sport Demo Replay Footage Blowout: Interlagos, Kyoto, and More

Polyphony Digital gave eager players a small gift this weekend. While the features of the new limited-time GT Sport demo won’t go live until tomorrow, the game will still load up before that.

Opening up the beta gives players access to the main menu of the game. You’ll get your first car — spoiler alert, it’ll be a Group B machine — but outside of that, there isn’t a lot to do right now. But, just as it was in the beta earlier this year, leaving the game untouched for a brief amount of time puts GT Sport into its “Attract Mode”.

Here, you’ll be treated to a slideshow of Scapes. Polyphony has scattered some other short clips between these, as well. A rolling road dynamometer is one such clip, alongside a slow cruise through a forested area, and a dimly-lit garage roll-out. Random cars show up in all three.

There’s also a designer house, though this one always focuses on the Bugatti Vision GT. It features both a clay model of the not-a-Chiron, and the real deal.

But the best bits are the replays. They’re all cut a little short for our tastes — barely hitting the two-minute mark — but they give us our best looks at all of the cars and tracks in GT Sport. We’ve collected a small group of them for your viewing pleasure below:

If there’s a particular combo you’re looking for, here’s the associated time slots:

  • 01:10 – Mercedes AMG GT S @ KYOTO DRIVING PARK – Miyabi
  • 03:07 – Alpine Vision GT 2017 @ Willow Springs Horse Thief Mile
  • 05:10 – Jaguar F-Type @ Interlagos
  • 07:19 – Camaro SS @ Dragon Trail II
  • 09:25 – SRT Tomahawk VGT @ Tokyo Expressway
  • 11:30 – Mazda Atenza Group 3 @ Suzuka

Kyoto looks very much like a beginner circuit. We don’t doubt it will play a major role in the early tests of the game’s Driving Experience mode.

The Alpine is one of the new cars Polyphony unveiled earlier this week. It may seem a little unusual to have some of the game’s fastest cars duking it out on the tiny Horse Thief Mile, but the always-undulating track certainly offers a challenge.

Interlagos has been GT Sport’s worst-kept secret for most of the year. Fans were glad when Polyphony finally confirmed it, and now we get a look at (just about) a full lap. As the one real-world new location, it will undoubtedly prove popular with players.

Dragon Trail may not be new, but its reverse layout is. The track was an easy favorite for many during the beta, and it takes on a very different feel when run counter-clockwise.

We’re not entirely sure which Tokyo Expressway version the Tomahawk finds itself on. It isn’t the divisive layout that was in the beta, that much is certain. It suits the Gr.1 pack though, with more high-speed opportunities and actual variety in its corners.

We end the collection with the Atenza Gr.3. at Suzuka. Drawing its inspiration from the diesel-engined cars that raced in the Grand Am GX class a few years ago, it looks right at home on the Japanese circuit.

With the GT Sport demo going fully functional in a matter of hours, stay tuned for more news on the game throughout the week.
