GT Sport Image Blowout: Over 100 Screenshots From E3 2016

Despite being a no-show at yesterday’s Sony E3 Keynote conference, a massive amount of new screenshots from Gran Turismo Sport have emerged over the past 24 hours. The new screenshots feature the same venues we have become familiar with in the past few weeks, however in terms of cars we see our first glimpse of the Hyundai Genesis GR.3 caught in the Arcade mode capture below.

Nice try Sony, we see that Hyundai!

Gr.3 is turning out to be an interesting category in the scope of GT Sport, with the Hyundai being the latest member in the growing confirmed roster in-game. The appropriately-named ‘Brand Central’ features in these screenshots too, showing that each manufacturer will have an individual showroom, a museum and a ‘Channel’ option which will show videos uploaded to Youtube by PD or the related Manufacturer.

We imagine the cars in the showroom will cycle upon selecting the manufacturer.

The ‘Museum’ appears in another screenshot and we can see exactly how it looks, taking a time-line view of each manufacturer and highlighting important years in their history.

For a manufacturer as prestigious as Mercedes-Benz – expect a lot of reading.

The player ‘Overview’ section details stats, classifications and achievements of drivers in GT Sport. Racers will be able to have their own bio and profile picture too, as seen in the last few iterations of GT.

There’s a lot of information to take in on the player ‘Overview’ dashboard.

For the first time in Gran Turismo, drivers will be judged on level, driver class and sportsmanship points, so provided the eSports mentality is adapted by real players of the game, these will go a long way to creating a compelling public online race experience.

Although expected, this gives definite confirmation not all events are FIA sanctioned.

Even though we did get an E3 trailer before the show, it was certainly disappointing we didn’t get any other new information from the presentation in LA. That being said, GTS is playable on the show floor and the PS-Blog has pointed out that Kazunori will be showing off the game as the show progresses this week, so stay tuned to GTPlanet for more information as it comes in.

Anyone else notice that the MX-5’s handbrake light is on but the handbrake is down? Also, the nose of the Corvete C7.R is perfectly clean?

I have to say I like the sportsmanship point idea. Far too many dirty drivers in the online areas of GT6.

In GT6 online, you mean hosted room or the auto stuff PD implements? Hosted rooms have someone who can police the race if they wish, but up to their discretion. You haven’t seen dirty driving until you played Forza 6 with the deluge of Christmas gift recipients doing their darnest to annoying you. Online itself is filled with folks who can’t take being left behind or beaten…disgusting behavior that can make any room a mess. I hope the grading system follows your PSN ID so you can keep your record of your progression and also keep other folks wary of your lack of sportmanship. Hope there is a pool that bad drivers get put in to keep them away from the drivers who came to drive and not crash.

To be honest, I’ve only run the Quick Match races and not anything in the lobby area. I’ve come across several people in the Quick Match that seem to have no idea what sportsmanship means.

This game is focused more on racing and racing development so cars geared to racing on the whole will appear. Some super and hyper cars, lots of sporty cars and some hot hatches as well. I saw ZERO Zonda’s though and GT is was made Zonda popular in the first place, where are my Ruf’s?

Is it me or are there very very few Road cars now? Road cars (esp the quirky ones) were really what got me into GT. Even in gt6 I played around with only Street cars

But to put things in perspective – sorry, suffering heat death here with no AC – sounds ARE improving, and the game isn’t being released next week. But if sounds are the most important aspect of a racing game to you above physics, handling, gameplay, graphics, features and so on, by all means move along and enjoy something that makes you happy. There are plenty of other racers out there.

tenacious i know ur a fanboy but you have to see how sounds makes a big part of the immersive experience. although its now improved from gt6, this may be a dealbreaker for some, i WANT them to suceed and improve, im not a hater but you defend gts scaringly blindly

…Some of these pics are unbelievably gorgeous. The lighting in them are truly incredible. I can’t help but wonder whether these are taken off the game running on NEO-spec PS4 though.

    1. SavageEvil

That would be deliberate false advertising and I doubt that would sit well come launch since no one has an inkling when NEO is going to be actually officially announced.

I’m sitting here, just kinda in awe. This is shaping up to be a hell of a good game when it hits the market.

I like GT also for this kind of features : museum. I tend to spend as much time reading things in game as racing.

    2. lTwiSparkle

I can relate to you queleuleu! As far back as in GT3 I’d sit for hours letting the in-game descriptions of cars roll on pass before even looking at the specs! Took a while, but good times :)
