We’re just catching our collective breath following today’s GT Sport content update, but already there’s a chance to use some of it in the newest game mode.
For the next two weeks you’ll be able to participate in the global hotlap competition, using two of the newest vehicles in the game: the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 and the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
It’s the Ferrari in the first event. You’ll head to the fictional Italian track of Lago Maggiore and, on sports hard tires, try to set the best time you can with settings fixed and BOP on. For this time trial it’s not the full circuit, but the East version that misses out the bowl hairpin and final sector of the GP course. You will need to find a million credits for the car too.
The second time trial has a slightly cheaper buy-in, with the ZL1 not even cracking six figures. Given the rather wild nature of the supercharged 649hp, rear-wheel drive car, it’s a mild blessing you get to use sports soft tires. You also get free rein on settings to tame the car somewhat. The lap takes place at the Blue Moon Bay Infield A circuit, so you’ll be able to stretch the Camaro’s legs — just watch out for that transition off the banking…
The time trials will run through to October 10, with two further time trial events to replace them.
