The surprise update for GT Sport has arrived and, as expected, it addresses minor issues with the previous update.
This update comes in at just over 150MB. That’s not big enough to bring any additional content, and, as we predicted, its purpose is instead to fix some bugs that cropped up in the July content update.
As expected, there’s a fix for a braking/downshift issue for the Mercedes-AMG F1 W08. The update also addresses another issue noticed by GTPlanet’s members, regarding the image quality of decals.
There’s other changes to decals too. The livery of the standard Mazda 787B — introduced in v1.23 — had errors which this update fixed. Another change addresses the decals on user-made helmet liveries, which didn’t display properly while driving.
Users may have also noticed some issues with single-player leaderboards. The fundamental change to the game’s driving model with this update meant that times set after the update were not comparable with much faster times beforehand. This meant that Polyphony Digital had to reset the leaderboards for Circuit Experience, but times set with the new model did not update correctly. This update also addresses that issue.
Players will also find some adjustments to the Balance of Performance (BOP) calculations for Sport Mode on the eve of the final FIA Online Championship season. These are largely 1% changes in the power and weight categories, covering 22 of the Gr.3 and Gr.4 cars. The largest change is to the Megane Trophy Gr.4, with a +2% weight penalty.
The patch notes end with the customary “various other issues have been addressed”, so if you spot anything not mentioned here, please let us know on the forums.
