perfect sound
Couldn’t help but grin when I heard it.
Sounds awesome!
nice and throaty good intake runner noise, awesome sounds much better in gt5. I just hope we get real Rotary sounds, real turbo sound, and real Vtec so 1/3 looking good
sound improved, but i still didn’t any vtec kicking sound???
Fireworks while your racing wow what a great little touch lol :D and im excited my girlfriend just bought a 50 inch 3d tv and its plasma so great response time, but best of all i have to look after the house for ten days in december, EVEN Better. however PD, GT5 better be out at the end of this month. PLEASE!!!!
Route* lol Sorry. ^_^; But awesome post Jordan!
The Special Stage Rout 7 run looks like a scene from Wangan Midnight. And the engine tone sounds greatly improved from the GT4 version. Yamauchi-san has done an awesome and thumbs up to you Jordan for the vid. Sony has to release the game… NOW!!!! I’m new but I love Gran Turismo. GT 4 LIFE!!!!
the v-tech is not quite what most think it’s touted for it’s reliability not for proformance . great vid thanx Jordan!
Must say I’m more than impressed by that tire smoke at the end, hangs around for way longer than we’ve seen before. I’m guessing it’s all about graphical load, in big races with a lot of cars on screen the smoke will be pared back a bit, but like this where it’s just one car on screen we can now expect it to be epic like this. Looks stunning. This, along with the rain in the cockpit view + headtracking + improved audio = a happy David.
I think GT5 will keep me occupied and happy for several months of my life :D
Spinout @ end = Epic Winsauce
PD wins
Flawless Victory!
Wow.. none of these gt5 vids on GTplanet are loading for me.. is this happening to anyone else?
meh, what í’ve heard so far is that gt5 hasnt changed made from gt5p…. it still doesnt sound like powerrrrrr!
Funny how GT4 makes GT5 looks like GT3. I know it’s just how the video was captured, but I’m really surprised by how good GT4 looks in this. I wish I could play it rather than just wait for GT5…
/facepalm
All I hear is an overloading microphone. Even the lightweight ‘ding’ of the start sound breaks up. Don’t be surprised if the game doesn’t sound nearly this meaty.
That’s bull. Even accounting for the distortion of the mic on the camera GT5 still sounds much better.
Oh my God that sounds good.
The Honda MUGEN Civic kind of sounds like the Honda NSX JGTC cars in GT3… only with a much more poweful engine note.
As for Special Stage Route 7, this track seems very interesting and with the fireworks in the background. This track looks like a course that would make illegal street racing fans happy. It reminds me of the highway battles in the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series. The only game where I could remember a street course with fireworks in the background was “Shooting Hoops” in Ridge Racer Type 4. Interesting video!
Sounds good but i like the GT4 sound in this car at least…but without the “jiiiiii” sound (electrical) that GT4 has at the back of all engines.
I cant wait to blast it up the motorway and drift it around that top turn before blasting it back… I’ll prob be making a loud WOOOOOOO! sound all the way there and back haha!
I’m going to have to force my brother off my PS3 for about… 3 months. Minimum.
Looks like he’ll be the lone wanderer at that point…haha
^I see what you did there.
MUGEN? las vacas mugen!
I think the sound in GT4 were better.
Sound in this vid from GT5 makes me think that the car rev is limited to 5.000. Very weird noise.
The GT 4 sound, sounds scarier, real mean race car sound.
The GT5 sound is more like a car that should be dumped. =/
Well looks like I´m the only one here thinking that… =S
No, that’s kind of how I hear it too, but the camera recorded sound is probably muffling out a wide variety frequencies resulting in rubbish notes. I bet it actually sounds much clearer first hand, because those two sounds are waaay to different to be the same car, surely they didn’t change it that much but have done some work on the lower frequencies to add to the rumble which is cool.
I AGREE! It sounded alot smoother in GT4 & that Civ wanted to do more, in GT5 it looked as if it was struggling, sounded terrible in my opinion, possibilities are it could be that stinking camera used for GT5.
Nice engine sounds indeed. Badass car as well
By the way, guys, is someone from GTPlanet going to host a Track Day in GT5 when it’s released? One that’s only open to GTPlanet members? That would be cool! :)
IIRC, video 1 was a GT4 WRS from way back :) The difference is pretty amazing imo. Thanks for these videos guys.
Jerome
SSR7 + Bugatti Veyron = Give James May a run for his money. Hehe.
If only it was a real track… Hm… haha.
I shall enjoy revving my engine once again! THANK YOU PD!!!
GT5 version definitely sounds like a VTEC. Huge improvement :)
Come to think of it, if you played just the sound without the video, you might think it’s Forza 3… but thankfully it isn’t :)
that car didnt have vtec. I repeat is a single cam the 1st with PGFMI
KANJO RACE!!!!!!!!Thats sounds exactly like like my D16A1. WOW that’s japan Tokyo bridge OMG PD should make a Version of Tokyo Xtreme Racer.
BTW this was my wake up breakfast thanks jordan!!!
Dude, OMG, id GT made or remade Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero, it would be soooooooooo bloooody EPIIIIIIIC!!!!
Ok, sorry for the ghetto type, but you get my point. If you take all the current possible features in GT5 and applied them to a TXR style run of GT, it would blow every other Wangan game out of the water!!!
Yess that’s what Im saying not just any any TXR game but any game. But i don’t think Pd supports street racing =(
Yea, I don’t think so either. Specially with Kaz entering full legitimate races, I doubt even mass outcry would convince him to make a street racing game too. And all the roads would be right there. No need to travel half way round the world just to get some shots. But, who knows. Maybe one day. He might indulge our fantasy.
^^ lets stay positive but would you imagine TXR PD Kaz style Online with at least 20 cars on these highway plus ai pedestrian or racers all together..omg that would be my life.
Txr was built for online, it even had e-mail. It became a game I would show beginners after they would give up on my GT set up. The paint even made your car heavier!
Amazing sounds. graphics. fireworks. smoke.
Im willing to sell my soul!
Mine´s available too. :)
Also those smoke effects are far more epic than the 2010 demo version was.
Yeah, it seems PD applied as much time for the smoke to stay in the air as they could before the frame rate dropped. It’s lookin’ smexy :)
I couldn’t agree with you more! Smexy indeed. =D
Seems like a super polished tokyo extreme racer 3 GT5 Wangan style.
Great comparison videos. Love it…The fireworks are a really neat touch to that track too…;-)))…
Sorry for the doube post, but has anyone recognized this road from say. . . Tokyo Extreme? Or for that matter any Wangan Highway Battle Game?
Not really. Maybe it was inspired by it.
Well the truth to this is that you do see the Wangan highway highway but PD went around the ramps exits the connect the bridge from Tokyo city to Wangan highway. True life version just like in Tokyo xtreme racer.
Ohh, so then what is this then? It goes right next to the Bayshore route, but isn’t the bayshore route? Ahhhhh!!!! I’m CONFUSED!!!! hehe. Ok no, really, that kinda threw me. What ya mean?
IT is a Tokyo Real life Tokyo Bridge the connects from Tokyo to the wangan highway just like in TXR. There is nothing to be confuse about.
GT4 Civic, sounds like my neighbor’s tuner car, or for that matter most of the street tuners around here. GT5 Civic, sounds like a proper beat your face in race grade civic.
Very nice sound difference but I’m more impressed with the tyre smoke.
+1 Same here =)
Very impressive indeed.
and the skid marks :)
im with u, i love the tyre smoke, im imaginating drifting in a tuned RX-7 in Trial Mountain. =D
Excellent, i see skidmarks at the end of the vid. Had been looking for them in the previous vids but couldnt spot any in this ‘final build’.
+1 Same here =)
Very impressive.
Too bad the chase cam view is so tight on the back of the car. In the gt4 vid there was more side view if the car when it turned. The sounds are awesome!
+100 to you Sir. :D
At least GT4 was released.
This is premium :)
And the gear change thingy, you can see the fog light/high beam light. :DD
Uh, that’s not a premium car. The windows are completely tinted.
i always wondered what Tokyo Extreme Racer would be like with GT physics! oh yeah!!!
same here +10
If the guys at Genki are smart and start to make the new game now, it could be released earlier then GT5.
Nah, just kidding. Ow Sh********it Sony!!! Come on!!!! >(
Or Wangan Midnight. =P
if release date for usa would be black friday woudnt it be anouced already?
I’m not sure. All I know is that it really sucks not knowing anything at this point. Does anyone know what the next occasion is that they could reveal the new release date?
there isnt one altough xmas is not a hoilday in japan best buy amzon are saying 12/31 i cant see sony saying ok guys out next week ,.. that doesnt fit with marketing at all
“Tentative” release date is January 11th. That means u can expect to actually hold a copy of GT5 sometime in February.
And that’s provided there’s no more ridiculous excuses for delaying.
If this game is not at least in the hands of those of us who paid for it a year ago by the end of February, then I think we’ll have reached the point where the vaporware label will apply.
This stopped being acceptable after the already well-past-due 11-2-10 date was missed, imo.
vtec just kicked in yo!!!
no vtec by that time. they better have the EF civic siR not just the CRX siR which were the one the introduce Vtec to the world.
They got the VTEC step up perfectly on GTPSP, obviously its not as deep and rich as it would be in GT5, but there is a definate step in the engine tone when I drive the Integra type R… So I would assume GT5 will nail it!
This car does NOT have VTEC. Do you guys know anything about this Vtec talk myth?
and it’s standard car!!!
These grainy videos aren’t doing the game justice. Good to “hear” the obvious sound improvment though.
and the tire smoke effect looks great!
agree…tire sounds and smoke look just great (even with that grainy video)
i don’t have sound driver in my pc :( .. i can’t hear music or anything T_T , i have to do format :( …
Ehmmm GT5 is for PS3 u know…
@raydeen
He was talking about listening to the video…
BACKFIRE AT 1.29!!! WOOOGHOOO!!!!
Now i will sleep peacefully… -_-
My God that GT4 looks and sounds very very bad all of a sudden.
GT4 is different then GT5 , they are both like diffrent games but GT4 or even GT3 is better then all forza games :P .. i loved the training in GT5 ( i didn’t like cars befor i played GT games , they are the best , have alots of fun and i get a weird feelings when i play gt or any good games , collecting cars and doing the career , just epic !! and changing oil and washing the car is kool xD …
Fantastic! Finally, they added some bass and rumble to the cars that had previously sounded like vacuum cleaners.
+1!
Ohhh, seems there’s a bit of WANGAN on my next Gran Turismo.
ME LIKES IT!
EXACTLY, that long straight got me excited!
that bridge the goes from the Wangan highway to Tokyo city.
Wow!
Is the car a premium?
SSR7 Might be a Tokyo style Autobahn (without all the traffic).
i dont think so. it appeared to have blacked out windows. And i would assume if it were, the dude would give the cockpit cam a shot.
Believe me, you wouldn`t like a dashboard of an 80`s Honda on your screen anyway:)
That car in the video is Premium
is not autobahn. is an actual real life bridge the goes from the Wangan highway to Tokyo city.
i would, i love classic car’s cockpits
@Tom You’re wrong I for one would love to have an 80’s cockpit viewed on my screen, especially the old school Civs.
Firreworrkss oooohhh @w@
you made my day :D:D
Ok. That GT5 example sounds sexy.
This i like when I was 11 yrs old, all over again : “can I play now? can I play now? can I play now?”
Brother : “wait”
the low quality of the video confused me for a sec, then when i figured it out i yelled out loud “fireworks?! that is awesome!” :D
Awesomeness, such a great lil car to throw around. The GT5 note is fantastic! Ok, I’m ready!! :-)
MY GOD! The difference is HUGE!! It just sounds amazing. Never thought that this car could sound so good.
GT4 looks better :P
In this case GT4 video is direct feed, and GT5 is camera on screen. Nuf said.
Yup, the mic in that camera is about just as crappy as the video quality. Really bad comparison actually.
Ive heard the real life version of this car in real life… i have to say that engine sound is almost perfect
Definitely an improvement!
Love the new engine sound :)
Won’t tuned exhaust change the note? I ask, because I’m not sure if it’s an exact comparison
they’re both identical cars, they’ve got the touring car exhaust note of that era perfect
I expected some improvement, simply because the sound quality on TVs has improved, and the console has improved, but will reserve judgement until I can be one of the lucky jerks to own a copy, lol.
Have you played this game??? Can you tuned race this race car?? answer for you is NO.
please be obnoxious in your high school classroom only
gooood :)
love this
Sounds great!
I LOVE gt5 sounds WOOOOOOOIW GOOD JOB PD AWESOME Sounds
WTF is up with the chase cam view on the 2nd vid???
1st one looked awesome.
It would be best if the GT5 video wasn’t off-screen!
dnt bother mne. will never use the chase cam!!!
@WHY? every thread lately i see you complaining about the chase cam… you dont give 2 hoots what the thread is about as long as you can have your cry session .. hey i guess im crying about you…… wanna hold hands and cry together?
@Mig HELL YEAH!!!
