The Gran Turismo 7 trailers are coming thick and fast, with a new video in the “Behind the Scenes” series dropping today.
This latest clip appears to focus mainly on the act of racing itself, although there’s a little dose of PS5-specific detail in there too regarding the haptic feedback of the DualSense controller. That of course won’t apply to players who pick up GT7 on PS4.
Although the video is mainly made up of longer portions of previous clips — including the sequence featuring the Ford GT LM from Gran Turismo 4 — there is a little new footage in there too.
The Lexus RC F Gr.4 stars in a sequence taking in large sections of Tokyo Expressway Central Outer Loop. This too seems to be derived from a race featured in the background of the Starting Line video that started this video series, but at entirely different sections of the track.
Fans hoping for more teased tracks might be a little disappointed though. The clip does contain the light traces we’ve seen in previous videos, drawing out the shapes of sections of track, but it appears to repeat the lines shown in the previous video.
A fourth video has also arrived this week, but it appears to be a mistakenly edited version of the Collector video from earlier in the week.
Posted on the official PlayStation Germany YouTube channel, the clip bears the same name but features entirely different content from all of the other versions of the Collector video. Rather than looking at the cars of the game, it centered on the GT Auto section, including the livery editor.
Even more strangely, the video featured English-language dubbing appropriate to the other Collector videos, but the spoken Japanese audio behind it does not match with what GT series producer Kazunori Yamauchi is actually saying in the clip.
Update: PlayStation Germany has now removed this video, and uploaded a dubbed version of the same Collector video as all other regions.
Once again though, this clip features those mysterious light traces, which in the first video very clearly drew out the Deep Forest track in plan view. Though slightly harder to decipher, the global version of the Collector video includes green track traces very similar to a slightly reworked Apricot Hill map.
While we might be hoping for more track reveals at this point, the traces — this time a pleasant bluey-purple — appear to repeat the lines of Deep Forest from the previous clips.
Nevertheless, at the rate these video teasers are coming, it won’t be long before the next. As usual, keep an eye on our Gran Turismo 7 forum for the latest.
