Players in Europe will have the opportunity to win themselves a VIP trip to the Gran Turismo World Series Finals in Amsterdam this December through a special online time trial within Gran Turismo 7.
The “Michelin Alpin Challenge 2024” will comprise a time trial event in GT7’s Sport Mode, sitting alongside the regular two events, beginning on Friday October 18 and running for two weeks through to the end of the month.
You’ll need a special set of skills for this event, which will feature quite an unusual combination. The location will be the Lake Louise Long Track, a snow and ice course based in Canada, with a Hyundai Genesis Gr.B Rally Car provided in a special competition livery and on Snow Tires for the challenge.
It’s not yet clear if the event will be visible to all players or not, or if it will offer rewards appropriate to your time deficit to the over leader like the regular Time Trial events, but the competition itself is only open to players from some European territories and aged 18 or over.
There is only one prize and that will go to the eligible player who tops the leaderboard after 2359 UTC on Thursday October 31 — and it’s quite the prize. They’ll receive a VIP trip for themselves and one guest to the GT World Series finals in Amsterdam on December 7-8.
That will comprise return travel and transfers to the event (flights, trains, or coach), and accommodation and meals while at the GTWS. Entry to the event itself is, of course, also included.
You’ll be eligible for the overall prize if you are 18 or over and reside in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, or the United Kingdom.
All players who enter the challenge will receive that Hyundai Genesis Gr.B Rally Car in the special competition Michelin livery as used in the time trial, delivered as a gift once the time trial ends.
While this event may only be open to players from Europe, there may be other tie-in challenges from the series’ sponsors to come — so watch this space for more!
