Gran Turismo 7 Michelin Time Trial Challenge Offers World Series Final VIP Trip

A special time trial within Gran Turismo 7 is offering a trip to the Gran Turismo World Series in Barcelona courtesy of championship tire partner Michelin.

The event will run within the Time Trial section of Sport Mode, but don’t worry if you don’t have a PlayStation Plus subscription: as time trials don’t run with live human opponents, they’re not multiplayer events and thus don’t require Plus.

You will need to unlock Sport Mode though, which requires you to complete Menu Book 9 (“Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade”) in the GT Cafe single player hub. However, once you’ve done this you’ll have access to the event.

For this particular event you’ll need to set the fastest time you can around — of course — Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, using the Porsche 918 Spyder ’13. The car is provided for the event, in a natty special livery bearing Michelin branding, and equipped with Racing Soft tires.

All players who enter and set a time in the event will receive the vehicle as a bonus prize, while one overall winner will take the first prize of a trip to the Gran Turismo World Series World Final in Barcelona this December. They and one guest will get to experience the event first-hand with flights, transfers, a hotel stay, and meals provided.

The event will run for ten days, starting at 0001 UTC on Thursday October 19 and running through to 2359 UTC on Sunday October 29; for those who experience a daylight savings change in this period, be aware that you will gain or lose an hour between those dates!

To claim the overall prize you’ll need to be 18 years of age or older (21 or older for players in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE) and resident in one of the territories eligible for the GT World Series competition itself.
