Gran Turismo series producer Kazunori Yamauchi has announced a special contest open to players in Asia which will see 25 winners across the region receive a special GT7 gift set, signed by Yamauchi himself.
The competition was first announced during the Taipei Games Show over the weekend, with a special message from Yamauchi — who even spoke briefly in Chinese — recorded for the event.
It takes place across social media and is open to players in Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, and a grouping called South-East Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam). In order to take part you’ll need to be at least 18 years old and legally resident in one of the eligible nations.
All you need to do to enter is create a video or image, with no more than 100 words of captioning, posted in public on Facebook or Instagram that describes what Gran Turismo means to you. You’ll need to tag it with #MyGTStory, and tag the @PlayStationAsia (or @PlayStation Asia for IG) account in your message.
We’re sure there’s plenty of great Gran Turismo stories out there, from players who’ve been inspired into careers (even racing careers) through playing the game over the last 24 years. The best entries will be judged on “creativity and constructive elements”, and five prizes awarded to each of the four territories (10 for South-East Asia).
The prize will consist of a Gran Turismo 7 bundle that contains the 25th Anniversary Edition disc version for PS4 and PS5, signed by Kazunori Yamauchi, along with the coaster set and sticker pack we’ve seen offered as a pre-order bonus in the region, and a GT7-branded pen.
There’s no word yet on similar competitions in other regions, but with less than six weeks remaining until that March 4 launch date, it’s clear that the promotional push is starting in earnest.
