Two new promotional videos for Gran Turismo 7 have hit official social channels today, featuring a wide variety of famous faces from across the motoring world.
The first appears on the global Gran Turismo channel, and takes the form of a round-table chat between five figures from various aspects of car culture, chaired by automotive presenter and commentator Jarod DeAnda.
Probably the most recognizable face involved is that of Sung Kang. The actor, famous for his role as Han Lue in the Fast and Furious film series, is also car collector and his modified Datsun 240Z, Fugu Z, won the Gran Turismo Award at SEMA in 2016. According to the video, players have bought or won more than 1.2 million examples of the car in Gran Turismo Sport.
Other personalities in the chat are racing driver Toni Breidinger, tuner/driver Adam “LZ” Lizotte-Zeisler, street photographer Timothy “13thWitness” McGurr, and car designer and comic book artist Jon Sibal. Each addresses an aspect of GT7 relating to their own profession in the clip, filmed at the Race Service automotive hub in Los Angeles.
A second video is available only on PlayStation’s Italian channels, and features motorsports legend Valentino Rossi.
While “VR46” might be best known for his exploits in motorbike racing, Rossi has also competed in four-wheel motorsport, including GT3-class endurance racing and the World Rally Championship. After retiring from MotoGP at the end of 2021, he’ll be racing in the GT World Challenge this season in an Audi R8 for Team WRT.
Appropriately enough then, Rossi takes to the wheel of the R8 LMS in GT7, and we get to see The Doctor racing and tuning his car in preparation for what 2022 will bring — though curiously he is using the GT Sport official Thrustmaster T-GT wheel rather than GT7’s Fanatec GT DD Pro.
Naturally the video is entirely in Italian, but it’s still fun to watch if you don’t understand the language!
