I find myself repeating a sentiment from the previous week: what an absolute joy this week has been. Project CARS is finally making its way out to the world and the initial reception has been nothing short of fantastic, the scene in Formula 1 is beginning to heat up again (don’t worry, I’m not going to spoil anything!) and will hopefully carry over to the next race at Monaco because this season needs the action from last year.
There’s still plenty to look toward to in the month of May but let’s look beyond that for a brief moment, June is the month of E3 and that should begin to set the stage for everything that’s coming out later this year and into the next. We already know Forza Motorsport 6 is going to be presented for the first time and will release later on this year, but what about Gran Turismo 7?
What does Polyphony Digital have up their sleeve that will champion the franchise into the current generation and everything it has to offer? We know they’ve recently employed former Turn 10 Studios Audio Lead, Mike Caviezel, to help lead audio development and this bodes incredibly well for the future of the franchise, but one of the prime takeaways from E3 will be whether or not Gran Turismo 7 was hard-confirmed to either release on the PlayStation 4 some time later this year or the next.
Who’s ready for the Spotlight?

This week’s featured gallery is D1SL CHR1STO Gallery and is brought to you by none other than the man himself, D1SL CHR1STO. Opened just this past Monday, May 4th, the gallery approaches GTPhotography with the eye of an actual photographer and as such offers a certain nuanced professionalism.
You can find D1SL’s gallery here in all of its splendor if you want to look through an entire catalog, one still in it’s infancy, that offers something a little bit different than the rest.

GTPlanet Thread of the Week – The Game Changer
This week’s thread, recommended to us by GT5 Level 41 and started by our very own Matt123, is the first race report for GT6 to be featured here. Without revealing much, the story revolves around Keito Akiyama and his red Mazda RX-7 FD3S, and needless to say things become interesting just as soon as the story kicks off.
There are currently five pages/chapters in total, with the current page, “Obsession” now live. Each includes particular images that progress the story accordingly and is quite the read.
If it’s a good read you’re after you’ll definitely want to stop by Matt’s thread here, and who knows, perhaps it will inspire you to write your own!
GTPlanet Member of the Week
It is once again time to acknowledge a member of the GTPlanet community is upon us. A member who has stood out among the hundreds of thousands of members already here, both old and new alike for all that they’re worth and all they have contributed to the community.
This week’s particular inductee is someone capable of understanding just what it is that Ima Robot is saying in their song “Greenback Boogie” because I’m sure unable to do so, save for a few words here and there. Having said that, let’s give the warmest welcome to the newest member to find vacancy in the ever-expanding Member of the Week madhouse, ImaRobot!

W Motors Lykan HyperSport Now Available in Project CARS
The first of pCars’ free monthly vehicles is here in the form of the 740 horsepower, 3.7-liter twin turbo flat-six-powered W Motors Lykan HyperSport. The car was made available this past Thursday alongside a Livery Pack as a day one patch and will available in North America when the game is released next Tuesday.
The HyperSport is no easy car to tame, so if you’ve been having a little trouble coming to grips with its power you’ll no doubt want to have look at our pCars forum and look for some friendly help!
GTPlanet Vehicle of the Week
GTPlanet Tune of the Week
This week’s featured tune, courtesy of praiano63, is all about the 2011 BMW Z4 GT3 tuned to overcome any and every 630PP challenge you dare to set before it, with its primary focus being to tackle Mount Panorama Circuit.
Stop by the thread here and strap yourself in, the Z4 GT3 is unlikely to be a kind-hearted racing machine.
The Last Lap
Apologies for the late Rewind once again but with so much happening over the past week it was practically unavoidable, alas here we are now enjoying the fruits of our community – better late than never as they say.
I caught Avengers: Age of Ultron again and I have to say, James Spader providing the voice for Ultron just about steals the show from everyone else. Ultron has such a dynamic personality and rightfully so for reasons I dare not spoil, but every scene Ultron is in is it’s own sound bite, it’s own highlight, and at the end of it all you’ll almost be remiss at the eventual outcome because you’ve grown attached to the character in a way you weren’t expecting whatsoever.
Do I expect Ultron to return? It’s difficult to say really, he returns on multiple occasions in the comic books but that isn’t as easily transferable or portrayed in movies such as this as they tend to be ‘one and done’, but should he return at some point for any reason I would expect it to be in a situation where the entire team isn’t necessary and one or two of the heroes can eventually dispatch him.
I could talk about comic books for paragraphs upon paragraphs but I won’t, even if some of you would read each and every one of those paragraphs. I’ll ramble on some more about comic book nerdery over the next couple of weeks, especially considering the events being set up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the eventual payoff with Infinity War Parts 1 & 2.
That’s about all out of me for this week, so until the next one you know what to do – keep on racing!

E3 2015 have to show us GT7 gameplay, and Prologue PS4 version of the game must be redy for Christmas…
finishing Gt6 and will try to get Platinum while waiting for some news about G27…. hope they will support it in the end..
I doubt we’ll see anything at E3 this year, maybe next year since they release there games 3 years at a time,I honestly hope they wait an extra year I don’t want to see a repeat of GT6,this game was a train wreck imo.
I’m excited whenever it comes.
“There’s still plenty to look toward to in the month of April…”
Is no one else concerned that I’m living in a month prior to the events I’m speaking of?
I’m not concerned. What’s it like to be living one month behind, T-12?
Also, I must ask, how old is Ultron? Is the Age of Ultron unknown to all of us? :P
It’s pretty hectic man, but I have a grasp on what awaits next month as you can probably tell.
Dang movie never even talked mentioned his age. It just throws you off entirely because you end up thinking he’s doing what he’s doing because he doesn’t know either.
why is everyone so eager for gt7?? I would be more interested in the promised dlc for the current game as gt7 is no where near ready!!! gt6 still has a long time to run and when gt7 finally does appear we will all probably need to rush out and spend our hard earned on a ps4! (if you haven’t already for project cars!!!).
fun fact no.1:
vg chartz listed Gran Turismo 7 as a 2020 game :D
Which does not mean it will not be on this year’s E3, but we all know Kaz :)
If PD think that hiring a Forza sound producer (when Forza sounds are overdone and silly anyway) will make people buy their game they have something else coming! Too little and too late.
I don’t understand why you are even here….. I can completely understand why people criticise the games faults but I don’t understand why you are so eager to right off the game as a failure before you have even seen anything of it.
Just because Mike Caviezel is part of the audio team does not mean it will sound like a forza game and to be honest it does not matter because the forza series has better audio than the GT series across the board.
The fact that PD have hired this guy shows that they are trying to address the complaints people have with the game and to right them off as a failure before we have seen anything is totally unfair.
You can criticise the game and PD to your hearts content but at least be objective and unbiased about it because you give the impression that you just want to see the series burn.
I am here because I feel we have been mislead.. no news from PD – nothing.. that’s why I am here!!
why would there be any news? PD are obviously not ready to show anything of GT7, just because PD have not shown anything doesn’t mean PD have mislead anybody.
Think about it..
I hope you’re not referring to Mike Caviezel, it is not common practice for a company or studio to make an announcement every time they get a new employee….
Regardless there is nothing for you to be mislead from
If GT7 is announced at E3 I’ll eat my shoes
I will require video proof
I’m expecting Kaz to announce that GT7 is in development, looks better than GT6, will retain “standard” cars and that they are on-track (pardon the pun) to release a prologue version early 2017.
A Prologue this holiday season or early 2016, like GT5 Prologue, would be wonderful news. I think it will take about three years of work for Kaz and the team to implement the kinds of goodies I want to see in GT7, so a Prologue would get many of us by.
I expect some sort of announcement this E3. SONY will want to keep Gran Turismo relevant in the face of two Forzas and Horizon 2, Assetto Corsa and Project CARS, so I expect a pretty good peek.
Kaz himself has said he doesn’t look at any other games so I highly doubt what is happening with Forza or PCars will have any effect on him whatsoever. Assetto Corsa he’s probably never heard of, given it has the sales footprint of a mouse compared to GT and isn’t even on the same platform.
I hope we see GT7 at E3! It’ll be amazing!
