Welcome back to GTP’s Track Of The Week, where we highlight outstanding creations from our community. This is the tenth week, so we’re throwing you something new: a point-to-point ribbon of tarmac to really test your car’s setup!
Hillclimbs represent a unique challenge in racing. While there’s usually another lap coming up to tidy up any mistakes one might’ve made on a circuit, and there’s ample time to “get in the groove” over the laps, a hillclimb is an all-or-nothing affair. It’s the simplest form of racing: just the driver versus the clock. GT6 already provides a deceptively challenging hillclimb in the form of Lord March’s Goodwood, but what if you’re craving more?
Last week, eran0004 showed us his take on a quick flowing circuit with Melder’s Brook. This week’s track is another of his creations, one of the most popular of its kind in our database: Montemaggiore. This hill climb starts with a short run to a tight left hander, then opens up into the quicker first section, with tricky high speed kinks requiring trail-braking to avoid costly understeer.
Mid-way through, switchbacks are the order of the day. Getting through each cleanly, with a high exit speed, is important for netting quick times. On the sixth, this is even more true, as feeds into a longer full-throttle section before again diving into two more tight turns. After that, it’s a short sprint to the finish line, punctuated by a small, off-camber jump.
Enjoy the video above, provided by eran0004 himself, of the rorty WSR single-seater Ayrton Senna drove tackling this challenging uphill climb.

Congrats Eran, your tracks always make up for some real fun while challenging the driver to remember the layout. bravo.
Congrats Eran on having your tracks selected by GT Planet – well deserved!
Great track but man, eifel is such a boring environment.
I’m afraid Eifel is the only scenery where hillclimbs like this is possible. Andalucia has a couple of good hills, but to reach them you need to go downhill first.
Yea I figured but it’s a shame. Is it not possible on Death Valley either?
If you go OOB, Andalucia hill climbs are possible. Death Valley isn’t their elevation is too flat, and if you go OOB, it’s too steep and creates glitched terrain.
The layout of this one is great though
