Polyphony Digital has announced the special bonuses for the first live event of the 2025 Gran Turismo World Series, available to players for tuning into the broadcasts, making their predictions of the results, and taking part in regularly scheduled Sport Mode events.
The London round of the GTWS, Gran Turismo’s first on-site event in the UK since the reveal of GT Sport in 2016, is rushing up on us at pace, with the racing all getting underway in two weeks’ time on Saturday June 7.
Over the past couple of seasons we’ve seen tie-in “bonus campaigns” that give in-game rewards for engaging with the events in a variety of different ways, and 2025 looks to be tacking the same course.
This time round there’s three different ways to get involved: Viewers Gift, Predict the Winner, and two special Sport Mode events. If you’ve participated in previous seasons, you should know what to expect.
For the Viewers Gift campaign you’ll need to visit a special in-game tile in Gran Turismo 7, on the World Map, during the promotional period. Within it there are two options, for viewing the Manufacturers Cup and Nations Cup respectively.
Clicking on the “Watch Stream” button for each between the start of the broadcast — 1440 UTC and 1740 UTC respectively on June 7 — and the close of the campaign at 0859 UTC on June 23 completes your entry; you don’t even need to actually watch the streams.
Each event offers a different reward — the winning manufacturer’s car for Manufacturers Cup and a special Nations Cup livery on an Aston Martin Valkyrie for Nations Cup — and notably, these are marked as due for delivery after the next game update. That is a pretty firm hint that there’s an update coming at the end of June.
“Predict the Winner” is a little more involved, and requires a mix of knowledge and luck to score the reward of up to 2,000,000cr.
Again you’ll need to visit a special tile on the GT7 World Map, and you’ll be invited to make your guesses as to which driver will take victory in the final race of each of the two events in London.
You have up until that final race starts to place your selection, so you can either do it now, or wait until all of the pre-race action has finished, or anything in-between.
For each one you get correct, you’ll earn 1,000,000cr — delivered as a reward ticket to your Garage’s Gifts section — adding up to the magic 2,000,000cr if you get both correct.
We’ll also see two tie-in events in Sport Mode, with a Daily Race and an Online Time Trial that borrow from the Manufacturers Cup event, with “significantly enhanced rewards”.
The Time Trial will be the first of the two to get underway, starting on Thursday May 29 and consisting of a hot-lap challenge for Gr.3 cars at Tokyo Expressway South Clockwise. It’ll run for two weeks, as any regular Time Trial does, and although the prize isn’t listed we’re expecting it to be a step up from the usual 2,000,000cr for gold — but likely with a sterner target than the regular record-plus-3%.
That’ll be joined by a four-lap Daily Race at the same cars at the same venue, in the Race B slot and running from Monday June 2 to Monday June 9. Though a good deal shorter than the real thing, it should whet the appetite for watching the professionals — and even if it doesn’t there’s a sweetener by way of 10x the usual reward money for each race.
