The racing action is still ongoing at the first Gran Turismo World Series live event of 2024, but already the tickets for the second event are on sale.
It’ll be the second event in a little over a month, and at a second all-new location for the year as Gran Turismo breaks new ground in Prague, Czechia — the scene of the unveiling of Skoda’s Vision GT earlier this year.
Once again, we’ll see the racing action condensed into a single day, or rather just one evening, on Saturday August 10. As with the Montreal event, there’s 90 minutes allocated to each of the Manufacturers Cup and Nations Cup finals, with the former beginning at 5pm local time (1500 UTC) and the latter at 9.30pm (1930 UTC).
There’s a spectacular venue for the championship too, in the shape of a 360-year old building that used to be a church until it was deconsecrated and turned into a theater. Officially called the Divadlo Hybernia (“Hibernia Theater”), it pays tribute to the Irish Franciscan monks who built it on the site of an even earlier Benedictine monastery.
Renovated in 2006, the theater boasts a huge seating area capable of hosting some 850 spectators, including 80 on the balconies and VIP boxes. Being a theater, the stage area should be sufficient for the 12 driving rigs, which PD has already confirmed will sport an upgrade to the new Gran Turismo DD Extreme wheel from series partner Fanatec.
As usual, there’s two grades of tickets available. The Gold Ticket is an all-day pass, allowing you to watch both series from “pre-allocated optimal seating” (probably not the VIP boxes!), and includes an exclusive event T-shirt. They’re on sale now, at a price of 949 Czech koruna (Kč) — the country has not yet adopted the Euro — or around $41/€38.
You can also pick up individual tickets for either the Manufacturers Cup or the Nations Cup, priced at 349Kč ($15/€14). These will be made available from Friday July 12, and given the pace with which the Montreal tickets sold out — even with the larger venue in Prague — you’ll want to make your decision to go or not pretty quickly.
Whichever ticket you want to go for, you can purchase it through the event’s special page on the Gran Turismo website.
