Though we’re still a little over two weeks away from the second live round of the 2024 Gran Turismo World Series, Polyphony Digital has already announced the rewards for the two tie-in campaigns in which viewers can participate.
It’s the third year in a row that we’ve seen these two special promotions, called “Viewers Gift” and “Predict the Winners”, which allow a measure of audience participation in the live events. We’ve already seen the Montreal event giving out rewards in the same manner as the 2023 championship, and that looks to continue for Prague too.
The two campaigns between them are offering up prizes worth the equivalent of four million credits for your Gran Turismo 7 game save, although one requires a little more engagement than the other.
For the Viewers Gift campaign you need only tune into the two live streams — one for the Manufacturers Cup and one for the Nations Cup — through the special, in-game tile in order to receive the reward for each. You don’t actually need to watch any of the stream this way, as merely clicking on the “Watch Stream” button is enough to register.
There’s a small window for doing this, and prizes will be awarded in two batches. Anyone who clicks through before 1459 UTC on Monday August 12 will receive the rewards on August 13, while a second set will be sent later to players who click through before the tile is removed at 1459 UTC on Friday August 16.
The rewards themselves will comprise two Vision Gran Turismo cars, each of which would cost you 1m credits to purchase in the game. For the Manufacturers Cup you’ll score the new Genesis X Gran Racer Vision GT, while — appropriately — it’s the Skoda Vision Gran Turismo for the Nations Cup.
Between them the two rewards will save you 2m credits in spending, and if you’ve already bought the cars and don’t want to keep the new ones then they’re worth a combined 1.2m credits at today’s Used Car Valuation prices.
If it’s straight cash you want then you’ll need to take part in the “Predict the Winners” campaign, but this is a little more involved — and we’re pretty sure you can guess how.
You’ll need to divine which two drivers will come out on top in the two grand final races at the Prague event, selecting one driver for the Manufacturers Cup and one for the Nations Cup. In each case there’s 12 drivers to select from, with the Nations Cup field remaining as it was in Montreal and the Manufacturers Cup drivers rotating to the EMEA representatives for each brand.
Should you find it difficult to decide, you have the chance to watch the drivers in action first. You can make your pick any time right up until the grand final race starts, allowing you to watch qualifying and — in the case of Nations Cup — the qualifying race before you make your selection.
Again, you’ll need to go into the special tab in Gran Turismo 7 to pick your drivers, and you’ll earn 1,000,000cr for each one you get correct — for a total of 2,000,000cr — delivered as a Gift ticket to your Garage on Tuesday August 13.
The streams themselves begin at 1500 UTC for Manufacturers Cup and 1730 UTC for Nations Cup, live from the Divadlo Hybernia theater in Prague, Czechia. Tickets are still on sale for the event if you wish to attend in-person too; Remote Play will be terribly useful for earning the rewards if you do!
