Gran Turismo World Series Tokyo Tickets Are Now On Sale

Hot on the heels of confirming that Amsterdam will host the 2024 Gran Turismo World Final, Polyphony Digital has also announced that tickets for the Tokyo live event are now on sale.

The third of this year’s three preliminary live events, it’s also the first that features a return to a city that’s hosted the series before. However it will head to an all-new venue — and quite literally, as the building itself opened only last May.

It’s an impressive facility called the Theater Milano-za, which occupies the 6th to 8th floors of a 740ft (250m) building in Tokyo’s Kabukicho entertainment district. The Tokyo Kabukicho Tower itself houses amusements, Japan’s largest nightclub, the theater, an eight-screen cinema and not just one but two different hotels.

The theater itself has a variable seating layout spread over three floors which can accommodate up to 1,100 people, although it’s likely to be in a smaller, 900-seat configuration to allow space for the gaming rigs on the main stage.

It’s going to be another one-day affair, with both Manufacturers Cup and Nations Cup taking place on the evening on Saturday September 28. There’s 90 minutes allocated to each of the Manufacturers Cup and Nations Cup finals, with the former beginning at 4pm local time (0700 UTC) and a relatively large gap to the latter at 7pm (1000 UTC).

As usual, there’s two grades of tickets available. The Gold Ticket is an all-day pass, allowing you to watch both series from “pre-allocated optimal seating”, along with an exclusive event T-shirt and a free drink. They’re on sale now, at a price of ¥6,500 or around $44/€41.

You can also pick up general admission tickets for either the Manufacturers Cup or the Nations Cup, priced at ¥2,500 ($17/€16). These won’t be made available for purchase until next week, on Friday August 16. Although the Prague event didn’t quite sell out its 800-seat venue, the popularity of Gran Turismo in Japan may well result in there being few tickets available for long — especially with the convenience of an on-site hotel!

In order to pick up the tickets you want you’ll need to go to the special section of the Gran Turismo World Series sub-site.
