Here’s Our First In-Game Look at GT Sport’s New Cars

Christmas is just around the corner, and it looks like GT Sport players might just get a gift in time for the holiday season.

Last month, Polyphony announced a substantial update would be coming to the game in December. Not only would it introduce a more substantial offline campaign — a welcome addition — but it would bring with it a dozen new cars. These models are a mix of cars from GT6, and new-to-franchise vehicles:

  • Chevrolet Corvette (C3) Stingray Convertible (C3)
  • Ferrari Enzo Ferrari
  • Ferrari F40
  • Ford F-150 SVT Raptor
  • Lamborghini Countach LP400
  • KTM X-BOW R
  • Mazda RX-7 (FD) Spirit R Type A
  • Nissan Skyline (R32) GT-R V-spec II
  • Nissan Skyline (R34) GT-R V-spec II Nür
  • Suzuki Swift Sport
  • Volkswagen Samba Bus Type 2 (T1)
  • Chris Holstrom Concepts 1967 Chevy Nova (2013 SEMA GT Award winner)

Earlier today, images started popping up across social media showing some of these cars. The majority come from Keiichi Akiyama, giving us our first in-game look at half of the rides set to arrive. There’s the odd coupling of the F-150 Raptor and Samba Bus up top, and a whole host of new cars on the grid above.

We spot no less than five new additions (Swift Sport, RX-7, F40, R32 and R34 Skylines), and a Lexus LC500 done up in a SuperGT livery. No, not the actual race car; Kazunori Yamauchi has hinted at SuperGT’s eventual inclusion, though.

Another Keiichi — drift legend Tsuchiya — was part of the Sukuka 10H Super Gran Turismo Championship event, too. He shared a GT Sport image on his Facebook page earlier today, with an R32 Skyline done up just like his own:

With the cars playable in-game, it seems safe to expect them sooner rather than later for the rest of the player base. There are only 11 days left of 2017, and an important date in Gran Turismo history falls on Saturday. Keep your eyes peeled…

Thanks to multiple GTPlanet users for bringing this to our attention!
