With just over two months before Forza Horizon 4 lands on shelves and hard drives across the globe, Playground Games has revealed the full map.
It’s a chilly rendition, as the team recently showed off the game’s winter setting. FH4 will feature all four seasons, and the coldest one provides a unique set of challenges for players. In the lower parts of the map, frozen lakes will provide access to areas the other seasons simply can’t. Meanwhile, travelling up to the Scottish Highlands, players will run into thicker snow and more ice.
Like previous Horizon titles, FH4’s map is not a foot-by-foot recreation of its setting. Playground Games’ version of the UK plays more like a Greatest Hits album, shrinking distances between points of interest (making it easier to go landmark hunting). It shouldn’t take you 150 minutes to get from the Lake District to Edinburgh, for instance. Take a look for yourself:
Speaking of the Lake District, players will want to stick around there in the winter. Thanks to the latest official live stream, we know a Barn Find will be present on the island in the middle of Derwent Water…
Despite the change of scenery, there are a handful of Horizon mainstays in Blighty. We spy a quarry, an airstrip, and a golf course. All three should prove popular with for meet-ups and the less serious competitive modes.
Playground will be showing off the spring season on the next live stream, happening this coming Tuesday, July 31. The team has been tight-lipped on the car list for the game. We know there will be at least 450 cars in FH4, with a recent game file leak giving us a good idea of what to expect. Gamescom, perhaps?
