Here’s some quite literal “screen shots” of the Gran Turismo 5 demo at the European Motor Show 2010 in Brussels, taken by our own Vince_Fiero. He’s taken the novel approach of focusing on in-car game play shots, providing us with a look inside cars we have not yet seen.

Great first comment Helix_9…. best comment of the whole column… i agree with your idea!
Nice shots, I’m guessing the contrast looks off because the screenshots were captured using a camera? As pointed out by AndyC.
umm anyone notice the prologue styled on screen map??, i thought they had the map from the time trial
some guys here are not better than the forza fanboys … sry but …
the diffrence is, the forza fanboy can play his game and we had to look at some screenshots (WOW) – so, please come down
Those pictures made a refreshing change to the usual things we have been seeing time & time again.
Thanks Vince_Fiero
Lifetime sales for the Forza Motorsport franchise = 6.9 million.
Lifetime sales for the Gran Turismo franchise = 53.2 million.
I really don’t think i need to say anymore.
thumping great stuff
@Sam, dan greenwald said the cars had 1 million poly’s each, but he’s like the biggest show-off and liar of the whole world, cause if it was true, where did the poly’s go, gt5p’s 200.000 poly cars look waay better modeled, and the xbox coudnt even render that, it would explain the 45 second wait time for a single race though XD
AH that Dodge Viper ACR look great in cockpit!!!!
not to mention the fact that if you’re in chase view, most of the time your car looks like a silhouette. It’s embarrassing.
Its those harsh shadows that give you shitty jaggies all ever your dashboard. The bad lighting in cockpit view is actually distracting, so if they want you to concentrate on the road they should introduce ambient lighting to the series. But no, they’ve got to run at a surreal frame rate and that comes first. Whatever. Solid buy.
I assume these are camera shots of an LCD screen or similar – as such I won’t be reading too much into exposure or lack of, it’s hard to get that right at the best of times. But as for detail – amazing!
Shame I prefer to play bumper cam, but this may persuade me, if only for some cool replays!
Tokyo again……….but nice.
@sam
My comment had nothing to do with forza. In fact I think your the only one who has mentioned it so far…
Nice shots. Thanks Vince!
Sam, you are the definition of Fanboy. Try to relax, boy.
@helix
GT5 looks miles better than ingame forza3 aka flopza3
as for your info troll
each car in Gt5 has 500k poly vs just 100k offlopza3
whats even worse that flopza3 has just 8 cars on track vs 16 on GT5
The interior of GT5 looks 100% realistic. you flopza3 fans …u are still here after flopza3mega flopped
flopza3 sold 175k in USa in october and just 40k in november . UC2 sold over 1m in Usa alone
looks like flopza3 wont even hit 800k ww LTD
on ther other hand GT5 is the biggest game on HD consoles . It will sell millions at launch ww
@CCJ
I think your right. They should have put some sort of fill light in the car or something. I guess they want the focus to be on the track, not the car… What would be cool is if they got the head tracking feature to detect if your looking in the cockpit or at the track and adjust the camera exposure accordingly.
Nice! I love to see some screenshots from the insides
@CCJ
maybe you are referring to garbage flopza3
cuz these ingame GT images are mindblowing
GT5 rendering is acting like a low dynamic range camera unfortunately…our eyes do not work like that though :(
still way too dark inside, and the sky gets burnt out :(
I love leather sterings wheels… just classic.
just release the game please
There are 10 cars in track in some of this pictures.
I believe it’s a step forward since the demo from CES.
those trees looks very nice
Very siiick.
ohh shnap
Hey Micro$oft, “be afraid, be very afraid”!
Good thinking!
Thanks Vince_Fiero for thinking ahead!
