After months of speculation, Polyphony Digital has shown off Interlagos in gameplay footage of Gran Turismo Sport. The short clip comes via the game’s latest Facebook trailer.
With two months left until its mid-October release, The GT Sport marketing team has been working overtime. Short clips explaining aspects of the game like the FIA championships, HDR support, and livery editor have been popping up with increasing frequency.
The newest video has series creator Kazunori Yamauchi explaining the importance of the game’s driver rating system. Beta players — or those keeping pace with GT Sport news over the last 18 months — know that the Sportsmanship and Speed ratings help with matchmaking. That’s not the big takeaway from the video: the clip starting at 0:18 is.

We see a McLaren 650S GT3 ahead of the pack, powering down a straight. Off to the left is an expansive green run-off area. In the distance is the hint of an S-bend. It’s not just any left-right, though: that’s Senna’s S. All of the track details match up — the McLaren is on the straight immediately after Turn 3.
We first spotted the track back in April. At the time, all we had to go on was one image, which despite its look of on-track action, could have been from the game’s clever Scapes mode. With this short clip however, we finally get to see the track during a race.
Interlagos bumps the GT Sport real-world location count to six. The rest of the list, which includes Nürburgring, Brands Hatch, and others, can be found right here.
According to Polyphony, the game will ship with 28 track layouts. Adding Interlagos’ Grand Prix layout puts the count at 25, meaning we’ve still got three unknown layouts to discover. Perhaps Gamescom will pull the veil further back next week…
