Turn 10 kicked off the latest in its Forza Motorsport 7 Bounty Hunter challenges earlier this week. Players will find another member of the team in their sights: community writer John Schommer.
Schommer is a regular host of the Forza livestreams, and also writes articles for the official site. He’s following in the footsteps of Forza head Dan Greenawalt by making his real-world car the star of the event. It’s another Blue Oval ride, but it isn’t the growling GT350. No, players will instead find themselves behind the wheel of the 2014 Fiesta ST.
What is different about this month’s Bounty Hunter event is the format. You’ll still be hunting for the best hot lap you can muster, but you won’t have the track all to yourself.
The challenge takes place on Mugello, and the folks at Turn 10 have honored Schommer’s status as a car collector by turning this into a track day event. You’ll find Beetles and Porsches to both pass and be passed by, making a clean lap even more of a challenge.
All players that set a time will receive the 1977 Ford Escort RS1800, a car currently unavailable any other way in FM7. In addition, they’ll receive exclusive driver suits.
Players that beat Schommer’s final time — whatever it may be — will win one of four potential cars as well. The official Forza Twitter is currently conducting a poll, though it looks like the Honda Civic Forza Edition will win:

There’s no announced end date for the event yet, but we’d recommend getting your times in before February 1 to be safe.
