People, just wait until GT6 if you want a, hopefully, better exprience. I understand how you guys feel with forced SRF. It really is stupid that PD continues to not make it an option, but I honestly think it’s time to give up since GT6 is close. I already deleted my GT5 game and save data in anticipation for GT6. GT5 is not going to get better at this point.
To be honest you should keep this to ypurself, not everyone is you and if anything i notice more people playing the game recently and it should stay that way
I’ll say whatever I want to say, thank you very much.
I was just making a suggestion to the people who are complaing about SRF being forced. It’s not realistic to expect to change it at this point.
Im just saying rather then encouraging people to quit we might as well enjoy what we have till these last 6 months pass…without negativity or rubbish. Besides atm there is nothing better out on ps3, i mean good for u if u got rFactor on PC but not everyone has that.
The Toyota 2000GT on the photo!! I wish I could have it as a premium car. While growing up I had the privilege of having a friend whom had two of these cars.My favorite car ever!!
Im so happy that all old cars stay for gt6 with new standard for standard cars!!! All those old cars, bring up so many good memories about GT franchise!!! Cant wait for GT6!! Hope the career mode will be more mature, with rally, nascar and drifting events..
Here’s a thought:- How about a Commodore/Monaro Australian Challenge in GT5?
Hopefully GT6 gives us some more Australian cars! I mean, Japan, Germany, Italy, England and America are NOT the only car manufacturing countries in the world…
Australia has produced, and still produces, some of the worlds best cars and even exports Holdens to Saudi Arabia (as Chevrolet), England (as Vauxhall) and America (again, as Chevrolet – though the Monaro went as Pontiac)!
Now, I’m not a Ford person but, what happened to the two Australian Ford Falcons that were in GT4? Good looking, powerful – the Typhoon was turbo charged! – and pride inducing (Australian cars after all)… GONE!!! WHY? Seriously, how many models of the GT40 need to be done? Ford America OWNS Ford Australia, so it can’t be licencing!!
I LOVE the Holdens we have, and I miss that Typhoon.
Speaking of Australian cars, HSV has released their line up of ‘Gen-F’ cars about a week ago. God, that Gen-F GTS with 430kw looks f**king epic. Can’t PD put that car into GT6 along with a Gen-F Maloo? I know that Kaz is aware of Australian cars as He saw them from Top Gear few years ago when Richard Hammond has reviewed 2 of Vauxhall (HSV) cars. Also, He could bringing in some of FPV cars as well.
More of the same from PD, and more of the same whining from me. I don’t know why I bother to complain when they clearly aren’t ever going to change.
Check out YouTube Channel MGDRACING1 for videos of online racing based on Seasonal Events. We just ran Japanese Classics at Tsukuba (a test race under our format), and Suzuka East (our first main event). We’re still in the development stage, but if you like what you see and want live racing based on seasonal events that allow the use of a larger variety of cars while maintaining the competitive edge, go to MillerGenuineDrafting.com and click on 38’s Race Night for information.
Right, I know this is off topic but does anyone know any quick, EASY to win and gets lots of xp for B spec? I’m trying to get to lv 40 (I’m currently 2/3 through lv 38) but I need some high xp, quick and most importantly easy races for my retard excuses of drivers to do. They’re lv 38, 34, and two 33’s, and I do have an X1. Any suggestions?
I think it’s bspec 5 the 500 pp race in the seasonals use a modified Evora. I think it’s one of the Cape ring tracks
You can also put your Bobs up for share to take part in remote racing – that draws in the XP and cash nicely.
Dude, they all suck no matter what. I’ve found the key is to keep them as call and collected as humanly possible. Just think of how bad the AI is when you’re running A-Spec, well, your Bob isn’t going to be any better.
still the same story… GT6 must not do same mistakes!
I’m waiting PD down the river.
RIP Chris Farley. I know that’s not the reference you were making but I am. Down by the river!
These seasonal events need a refresh. I noticed some go back as far as 2011.
Why is it that people cant remember about people who are new to the series. Ive played since gt3 and i needed aids until i got the jist of it. but please being so rude to pd who work their (Censored) off to help make this game more enjoyable than it always is (which is a very enjoyable game i assure you) but come on the world ain’t fair and neither will your life. “you see a speck in your brother’s eye but do not see the plank in your own eye.” Before you start criticising pd for all the work they put into this game please realize its not them who need to change. ITS YOU!!!!
+!
Wow! Lovely and philosophical.
And welcome to the internet. It’s a place where common decency, spelling and punctuation and political correctness go straight out the window.
Why don’t you go back to your doobies and your rose-tinted specs? You’ll only end up full of dismay here.
If you’re keen to stick around though, read between the lines. Every now and again someone here has a real golden nugget to share which is worth wading through all the dross to get to.
Amazing point. I remember my first few months on GT5 when I would never have considered turning the driving aids off!
You don’t see the point Prodigy, if PD release the option to use SRF at your will you would enjoy the game with aids and people who don’t like aids would enjoy the game aswell, everybody happy.
But the thing is that PD want to force SRF in an expert event, thing that makes nonsense, or maybe somebody in PD forgot to witch on the SRF button option, like they forgot (since long months ago) to show in their website what kind of active steering players are using in the TT leaderboards seasonal events.
I offer myself as beta tester if they want one. :D
The point is you can’t turn it off. I don’t see why some sort of philosophical point of view is needed. PD must think noobs are idiots who can’t flick an aid on or off.
^Agreed, all aids should be optional, not mandatory, especially in an event that claims to be for expert level players.
Lol, I can’t win, at these “Japanese Classic” events, with SRF on! I know I’m slow but dang!
+9001

No option to turn off driving aids in GT = FAIL..
HUGE FAIL, like lots of other things in GT lately.
My general lack of skill and/or interest in this series makes me feel as if PD is challenging me to up my game. I have yet to win a single round of the previous “Japanese Classics” events. Must Maintain Speed Through Corners… ;)
Yet again another bloody Japanese Classics
LOL PD
Isn’t this like the 6th time we’ve had one of these Japanese classics events since the start of seasonal events?
Who ever is complaining about SRF just needs to stop. You aren’t going to get anything accomplished.

Ugh, SRF. Looks like my manliness is being compromised again. My fiancee will be judging me as usual. Guess il have to wait until next week to get laid…
Is it possible for Polyphony Digital to set SRF as optional for these seasonal events? If so, then please give us a choice.
If not and the event is described as “Expert” then please leave the aids off and have some “non-Expert” seasonals for people who want to use the driving aids.
I sometimes wonder if people just read the first 2 words of my comments, and not realise that I am completely taking the p*ss…
I may experiment. Next time i’l write ‘Ugh, SRF. Banana monkey sausage’ and see what the responses are
WonkyFonk that statement regarding your relationship activities, is just way to much information, and really shouldn’t be discussed in the forums IMO. Complain about the Forced SRF all you want but your marriage desrves more respect than that.
Apologies.
I wasn’t actually complaining, just making a joke of those who were.
Japanese Classics and not one single japanese track…
What’s wrong with Fuji, Suzuka, Tsukuba, Motegi and Tokyo R246?
Technically Mountain Aso is a Japanese track. But your point’s still true, it just seems like they take a random cup from A-Spec, throw in some random tracks, add some price money and force SRF on.
Well, we’ve had the Japanese tracks with previous Japanese Classic seasonals – then you lot were complaining that it doesn’t change…make up your minds!
Different tracks is good.
Perhpas ‘you lot…’ should have been ‘a bunch of people…’
And cue everyone getting butt hurt over the number of Japanese cars in the Japanese car game.
Yeah, they just don’t seem to get it. My favourites are the ones who state they’ve been playing GT from the beginning but have only now apparently noticed this.
Don’t care. SRF is on = not doing it.
I will try this new seasonal out, but I’m to hyped for GT6 and its demo that’s coming out in July. :)
Not too difficult so far. Started with a 370pp 280z, quickly realized it needed suspension adjustments, so I bought an adjustable kit and also added a sports exhaust and intake filter bringing it up to 383pp. Easily won Grand Valley, Eiger, and Deep Forest, haven’t done the other two yet.
The SRF has to be some kind of practical joke…..”mwahaha” – Polyphony Digital
Well, that was a fun seasonal. :)
I started of with a 400pp ’70 GT-R, and it was just barley good enough for Grand Valley…but it stunk at Eiger Nordwand, so I switched cars and got in my ’67 Mazda Cosmo, and tuned it to around 158hp, 400pp…with all weight reductions and non-pp enhancing upgrades.
The Cosmo demolished Eiger Nordwand with ease, thanks to its nimble cornering ability, but London proved a challenge. However, I managed to win by dive bombing the final corner. Deep Forest was easy, I was in 1st by the 4th lap. Then came Mt. Aso, which was a challenge on the 1st try as I finished 2nd, but the 2nd time I caught the leader by the middle of Lap 5. I’ve got a brand-new Toyota 7 Race Car now. :)
The Cosmo is a good enough car to win this. It is a bit tail-happy and will slide if pushed, but I managed to turn that into a positive trait to corner at high speeds. :P
I danced around London in a Fairlady 2000 ’68. I shall name her Waltzing Matilda.
Jap Cars, 400pp, SRF, Crappy created track. Getting kinda bored of the repetitiveness lately. The Formula challenge was a nice break but they need to give us one with the Ferrari F1’s or with top level supercars. These challenges are pretty stale.
We got one with the Ferrari F1s but I agree, they should give us another one-a harder one :)
Japanese, not Jap.
The latter is a derogatory term, in case you didn’t know.
Even big car shows like Japfest use the term though. As a non-native speaker it’s sometimes difficult to see word’s deeper meanings.
But that’s almost the same as the term BritPop – an abbreviation. When used as a standalone name, it is just disrespectful – look at the OP’s tone.
Spot on, MeanElf.
Terronium-12 It’s only how you per-sieve the word. In the way i used it was NOT offensive to anyone. Now if i said your a stupid Jap, Gook,Toe-head, Zipper Face, Chink, Slant-eye, Etc. That would be offensive. I wasn’t using the word in any derogatory manner so there’s no need to get your panty’s in a knot. I’m a mix of Russian German Irish an Sioux and there’s a million terms i could take offense to but i choose not to because there just childish an i’m more mature than to take everything with a grain o’ salt. I also have an aunt who is 1/2 Japanese an 1/2 Finlander an she don’t take offense to either term Jap or Fin nor does her mom who is 100% Jap. Words are only offensive to those who are ashamed, self-conscience or who are just looking to start an argument because there one of the first two. Don’t read into things so deep an try to make something out of nothing it won’t get you very far in life.
^If you say so^ and per-seived is spelled Perceived, First chance you get visit Japan and call everyone you meet a Jap. My neighbor is 100 percent Japanese and I assure you, its derogatory, inflammatory and offensive.
KYD you’re just showing your ignorance more and more with each sentence there.
I understand the ‘guilt’ reason you mentioned, but there are other reasons for not using such terms, even jokingly. We are hopefully more mature as a species nowadays, and a lot of people have chosen to show respect for their fellow inmates on this planet. You say the way you used the word was not offensive to any one – the majority of replies to your post prove otherwise.
Thanks by the way Both Barrels :)
Ok. What cars are people using to win.
I used my Toyota 2000 GT ’67 tuned to 185 bhp 398 pp and I still couldn’t get within 14 seconds of the leader at Grand Valley.
Ok won Grand Valley using a stock Dome-Zero Concept ’78
Had to add 200kg if ballast to get it under the pp threshold.
Was lapping between 1:22 – 1:24 pending my line and traffic.
But yeah would still like to know what others are using. I don’t like to use the same car for all races in these events.
I’m going to guess that you bought that from the previous OCD? It’s a shame I didn’t buy that one. I could’ve had my 4th Dome Zero.
The Fairlady 2000 ’68 is a flying dynamo in every race.
Used the 73 Skyline 388 PP no setup except for a drag inspired Transmission tune, Comfort Mediums and Comfort Hards no aids other than SRF.
Both Barrels cars is also a good choice
Sweet choice Pit Crew. Another of my favorites is the Isuzu Bellet GTR.
These seasonals came a week earlier than usual. Hmm, maybe we’ll start seeing new seasonals every week instead of every two weeks.
Why won’t they listen to us about SRF =/
Yes I’m still moaning about this! I want to participate in these events but I refuse to have training wheels bolted to me.
I really should stop having hope that they’ll stop forcing an aid =/
Probably because us here at GTP are only a minority of the fan base?
Nice! I need the Cr. :3
If it’s credits you need take a standard Mazda 787b racer and drive the Spa race.
I won it after a couple of goes and it rewards you with over 800k credits – and it’s a bloody riot! :-D
I love these cars.
Or you could get 428k in 11 min for getting 12th place at tsukuba “World Circuit Tour 750pp” with a fiat 500 with 200 kg ballast (50k for 12th and 378k as performance adjustement with 200%). Extreamly easy and really really boring :p
