Spanish Gran Turismo Sport players, there’s a new esport event for you. No, we’re not talking about the third FIA GT season that’s about to start, but one with a pretty cool prize on offer: a seat on Fernando Alonso’s esport team.
FA Racing Logitech G, as it’s known, is a fairly new squad. Alonso announced its formation late last year, and the lineup already boasts some impressive talent. In amongst the ranks is Aurélien Mallet, one of the fastest Forza players in the world. The team also boasts a strong GT Sport lineup, and this tournament will see that grow.
From now until August 17, interested parties should head to the International Fair of Samples (FIDMA) in Gijón. Set your best time — the car/track combo is currently unknown — and you could qualify for the semifinals on August 18. The fastest two people each weekday, and three on weekends, will advance. From there, a 1-on-1 knockout-style tournament will determine the final 16, who will face off August 19.
The winner earns a spot on the team next season alongside a full suite of Logitech sim racing gear.
