GTPlanet is very excited to team up with Nissan to co-host a live Twitter question & answer session with Lucas Ordonez, the real-world racing star that’s emerged from the first GT Academy competition! As you know, Lucas and his Signatech Nissan team just finished second-in-class at the 12 Hours of Sebring, the first race in the 2011 International Le Mans Cup calendar. They’ll be participating in all the events around the world this year, including the ultimate endurance race – the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The Q&A session starts at 4:30PM EST. To submit your question, just send it in a tweet including the #GTAcademy hashtag. Nissan is giving away 6 copies of Gran Turismo 5, so you’ve got no reason not to ask something. There’s a special bonus for GTPlanet users as well: submit your question in the comment section below, and you could win an officially licensed GT Academy hat signed by Lucas himself! (Take note, however, Nissan can only ship the prize within the United States.)
Follow along with the interview by watching @NissanNews or keep an eye on the discussion by watching the #GTAcademy tweets.
UPDATE: The interview is now over – I’ll announce the winner of the signed hat shortly!

How many hours do you think you put into winning gt academy in total?
Anybody… well not anybody. I could do what this guy does even better if given a chance, but no GT Academy was so f-ed up with cheaters and event cancellations and changes. Even than how does someone that can play a video game get a chance like that. I just wish I could have a chanc like that.
Hi, I wish him the best of luck on the track
Q: How do you thinkg your progress has affected the others who really wants to take it to the track and to live by racing but are stuck with a software simulation? Is it possible to come where you are now by buyin a used car and work your way up like in GT-life? e.g takin it to your closest lokal track?
Hope you may understand my question(s), guess you kinda were in most of ours shoes befoure you entered the GT Academy, having a dream of beeing a pro race driver
If you could have any car you wanted, what would it be? (and you can’t sell it, cause then one might say they would want a very expensive car to sell it and buy several less expensive cars)
Lucas, how to you maintain your concentration during long stints behind the wheel in an endurance race?
Similar to GTP_Dessy’s question, but I want to know about his real life racing experience.
Lucas, as your profession is now primarily a racing driver, do you have a good level of income from being one as costs to get into motorsport are currently very high?
Also have you been working with Sony and PD on a new special event for GT5 as you said in an interview that you’ve been working on a different time trial than the current academy one?
Just realised it is Jordan Tresson who said he is doing a time trial event, in that case are you doing it too and if you are is it for GT5?
Which Gran Turismo game did you play and enjoyed the most?
Are you The Stig? If not do you think The Stig should go on Dancing With The Stars?
What aspect of Gran Turismo would you say best prepared you for your career as a race car driver?
Lucas, I noticed in your race at the weekend that there were only 4 cars competing in the LMP2 class along with yourself; Is it difficult to be aware of your pace with a large grid, but only a handful racing in your actual class?
This man has no limit.
What was the Gaming wheel which you used during GT Academy?
Lucas,
What track are you most looking forward to racing on in the 2011 season?
Lucas, would you say that gt5 pepares you for races? learing cars and tracks?
Lucas:
Have you got any good cupcake recipes?
How has winning the GT Academy affected your personal life?
IS GT5 really as realistic, as so many people say?
So, would you say, if you can drive that car in the game, you could do it with the real car?
Sorry, for my bad english…
We germans love the “,”. :-)
How do you feel about the fact that you realized your dream?
A simple question for a dfficult answer :)
My question to Lucas:
What would you be today if there wasn´t a competition called GT Academy?
What do you find is the best way to keep concentration levels at a maximum while playing GT?- it’s very easy for your mind to drift during long sessions.
Have you tried GT5 and then the same car on the same track in real life? If so how did your times compare?
Can you buy me a Thrustmaster T500RS and I’ll love you long time?
Just kidding. But congrats on the race at the weekend, keep doing what you’re doing.
Lucas the best;)!
I want to race against you, Lucas in GT5:)! It’s hard even for to defaet me;)!
