If you fancy picking up a very special piece of Gran Turismo memorabilia, there’s an interesting opportunity this week for fans based in Spain.
Lucas Ordonez, the first ever winner of GT Academy, has donated the race suit he wore in the 2009 Dubai 24 Hour race to a special charity raffle. That was not only his first international endurance race, but the actual prize for winning the competition, so it has a significant place in GT Academy lore.
The auction, organized by PlayStation Spain, is in aid of a children’s charity called “Juegaterapia” — literally meaning “Play Therapy”. It’s aimed at improving the lives of children in hospitals across Spain, creating gaming rooms and garden areas so that kids aren’t stuck in the sterile hospital environment and can feel more like they’re at home. Juegaterapia has gaming rooms in over 100 hospitals across Spain, in 50 different cities and towns.

Together with the charity, PlayStation Spain has created “The PlayStation Explorers Club“. The plan is to create special Explorers Club rooms equipped with PlayStation 5s and other PlayStation tech, as well as other areas to entertain children. All of the proceeds from the raffle will go to the Explorers Club initiative, with a single entry costing €5.
Lucas’s race suit is far from the only thing you can win too. Plenty of celebrities and brands have joined in to offer personal items and experiences, all at €5 per entry. Footballers like Ronaldo, Koke, and Alvaro Morata — and even Atletico Madrid football club — all offer signed boots and shirts, multiple Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal has a signed shirt for the raffle, and MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez has donated a pair of well-used knee sliders. One item that’ll particularly interest gaming fans is an extremely rare PlayStation Joystick unit, given by journalist Bruno Sol.
In addition, each entry goes into a separate draw to win a PlayStation 5, just to add some extra incentive. However, be aware that while anyone can enter, you are only eligible to win the prizes if you are resident in Spain and aged 18 or over. Raffle entries will close on Monday March 15, so get your tickets now if you want to be in with a chance.
