PlayStation Europe has put together this video, featuring father-and-son racers Martin and Alex Brundle, to find out what they think.
For most of us, the Brundles need no introduction. Martin is an ex-F1 driver, with over 150 races under his belt, along with an overall win in the 1990 Le Mans 24 Hours. Son Alex has raced both open wheel formula and prototype cars too, with a third place overall in the 2017 Le Mans 24 Hours and a European Le Mans Series championship win at LMP3 level in 2016.
Of course both also have a strong GT Academy connection. The duo teamed up with Academy winner Lucas Ordoñez to race in the 2012 Le Mans 24 Hours, finishing eighth in the LMP2 class.
Gran Turismo holds a special place in the Brundles’ hearts. Alex started playing the original game when he was just eight years old — and the pair reveal that they used to have hot-lap battles (which Martin won, as you’d expect). However, Martin notes in the video that he hasn’t played the game much himself since Alex moved out!
In the video Brundle and Brundle discuss the immersion of both the regular game and in VR, along with the merits of the FIA partnership. You can see their thoughts below — and if you haven’t already, be sure to check out GTPlanet’s own review of the GT Sport.
