Time is quickly winding down as we close in on the release of F1 2018. With 11 days remaining, Codemasters is keeping the hype going with the latest gameplay trailer.
Right away, fans of the sport will immediately recognize the official F1 theme. With it comes a flurry of action shots showing this year’s cars rolling in full force. As always, you can expect a good mix of on and off-track drama. After all, this year’s tagline is appropriately “Make Headlines”.
Players will find themselves plenty occupied with this year’s title. Not only is it aiming to be the most realistic on-track experience in the franchise yet, what you say off it will have real consequences. It adds a layer of authenticity to the game as you’re bound to respond in the heat of the moment to the on-track chaos. Best of all, there’s no wrong answer.
On the topic of realism, fans will find themselves having to manage their race in new ways. This year’s game uses real world F1 data, including downforce and drag levels. In addition to simulated tire carcass temperatures — a first for the series — and improvements to suspension and chassis physics, this year’s title will surely stand out.
Another element adding to the experience is season-to-season rule changes. It’s a nice way to build off of last year’s R&D feature and take it to the next level. Much as it is in the real sport, these changes will affect where you spend the brunt of your time developing the car.
There’s also the matter of the growing list of classic cars, headlined by the Brawn BGP-001 and Williams FW25. F1 2018 has a lot in store for fans and we can’t wait to scrutinize over every detail.
F1 2018 releases on all platforms on August 24.
