Continuing what’s so far been a strong start to the year, Marco Massarutto of Kunos Simulazioni just released new teaser images for upcoming content in Assetto Corsa.
In total, eight images have been posted over the last few days. The first set that was posted revealed that a new car is coming to Assetto Corsa for free: the 1986-7 Audi Quattro S1. Marco jokingly apologized that “the next free bonus content … will not be a SUV,” referring to the Maserati Levante added back in September.
The other photo set that was released adds more detail to the upcoming track we’ve been hearing about over the past few weeks. The images seem to be centered around the city configuration of the new track—dubbed “Highlands”—showing a very narrow roadway and a tight left hand turn, which passes by a pub. A convenient location, perhaps, to pick up a digital pint after a race well driven.
Sometimes still images just don’t convey the feel of a track though. A short video teaser accompanies all the pics, featuring the turbocharged Ferrari 488 GTB threading the needle:

Marco stated that players should expect the new track added before the end of this month, but it isn’t clear if that’s for all platforms. With the recent news that Assetto Corsa update 1.12 went into submission for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, parity between the consoles and PC will soon be achieved (at least in terms of additional content).
It remains to be seen how the recent news of Kunos Simulazioni gaining more financial backing will affect the post-release support progress for the game. Stay tuned for more details.
Assetto Corsa is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (Steam) platforms.
