With only one week remaining until players are mountain-side vying for the title of “King of the Mountain,” Turn 10 and Playground Games have released the third DLC car pack for Forza Horizon 3. This month’s offerings are divided between classic and modern day metal, including surprises no one saw coming:
- 1965 Pontiac GTO
- 2015 Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6
- 1996 HSV GTSR
- 2014 Morgan 3 Wheeler
- 2017 Mercedes-AMG GT R
- 2017 Jaguar F-PACE S
- 1992 Toyota Supra 2.0 GT Twin Turbo
A quick overview of the included cars brings us to an irregularity: a concept car. Debuting at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 is not only the manufacturer’s first two-seater, but the first hybrid as well. Expected to go on sale within the next four years, players won’t have to wait nearly as long to get behind the wheel.
The Pontiac GTO and AMG GT-R both share one thing in common: muscle. With one being referred to as “The Goat” and borrowing the ‘GTO’ moniker from the Ferrari 250 GTO, and the other being a more brutal performance-bred evolution of a car already in the game. Both are likely to blaze a trail when the rubber hits the asphalt.
The Morgan 3-Wheeler is one of the more unique vehicles in the lineup. Joining the company of the Reliant Supervan, the 3-wheeled rocket isn’t one to be taken lightly. Weighing in at just 550 kg (1,212 lbs), the S&S V-twin can move the car from a standstill to 60 mph in over 4 seconds and onto a top speed over 110 mph. While comparatively paltry against other cars, high speeds in a vehicle weighing less than a modern day F1 chassis will be frighteningly exciting.
Lastly, the final two cars in the car pack, the HSV GTS R and Jaguar F-Pace S are the furthest things from kindred spirits; the former is a hallmark of Aussie performance in the late 90’s, and the latter is a 2-ton-plus performance crossover SUV. The product of Holden’s winning ways in 1996, the VS HSV GTS-R, was only available in one bright color — Yellah – and a rear spoiler mirroring that of that HRT racing machine.
The F-Pace S bumps up the crossovers credentials, sporting 3.0-liter supercharged V6 that sends 380 horsepower to all four wheels, continuing the trend of high-end manufacturers offering family-friendly performance fiends.
The Logitech G Car Pack is available now via the Xbox Marketplace and Windows 10 Store. It lists for $6.99 USD, and is free for players who purchased the Car Pass.
