Milestone’s latest two-wheel racer, MotoGP 17, is now available on the western side of the Atlantic on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The game launched last month in most other major markets. As you’d expect given the name, it focuses on the full 2017 season, including riders, bikes, tracks, and teams. MotoGP 17 not only represents modern riders — the game adds over 70 historical names to the list as well. In addition, MotoGP 17 features the Red Bull Rookies Cup, a first for the series.
One major change sure to please sim racers is the move to a more fluid 60FPS frame rate. According to Milestone, this “will guarantee a greater control of the motorbike and a more enjoyable and exciting gaming experience.”
Managerial Career Mode lets players adopt the role of team manager. After creating a team and starting in Moto3, the game puts players in charge of staff selection. This extends past drivers, encompassing engineers and even nutritionists. Yes, really.
MotoGP 17 is also throwing its hat into the burgeoning esports ring. Exclusive to PS4 players, the MotoGP eSport Championship will feature seven rounds. Players will progress through these events over the coming months, and the fastest sixteen will face off at the Valancia Grand Prix. The MotoGP season finale takes place November 12, where the final eSport Championship race will be broadcast live. The winner of the event will walk away with a brand new BMW M240i.
As previously mentioned, MotoGP 17 is now available on all three major platforms (PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam).
